Underwater welding and the like are even more lucrative from what I’ve heard.
My caution is a strong union, well-negotiated contracts, and rock-insurance are a MUST.

Don't be looking at those online sites
Anything related to Pipe welding is $50 an hour or more. Even Pipe welder helpers make like 60k a year
Underwater Welders make like $2000 a week, and that's on the low end
TIG welding (If it ain't Pipe) is $85k a year or more
Experienced Fabrication welders make at least 60-70k
The only low pay welders you see are the assembly line welders at a manufacturing plant, basic skills welders
