@UpAndComing are you about to get a certification? Look into getting pipe certs if you can. Idk what part of the country you're at, but ive been seeing pipe welding jobs that pay 30-50$ a hour, plus daily per diem. Really the best thing you can get into welding wise right now. All this fracking going in. Especially in Texas gulf area.
I’m a plumber but I don’t weld. If I’m installing gas pipe over 3” I have to hire a welder and I WISH IT WAS ONLY $50p/h. Last guy I paid $1300 for a day and a half.

Yeah I'm testing for a 3G plate, stick welding, after I'll take my 4G
My goal is to get a 6G cert in Stick pipe welding and TIG pipe welding

Passed my 3G welding cert test 
Welding is fun, I used to weld back in the day and was about to take my tests before I decided to back to school. You work in a shipyard or around another type of fabrication plant? You prefer stick or machine welding?

Work as a Truck Driver
I applied for Welding jobs, but if you don't got the certs, they only pay you like $11/hr
. So I'm back in Trucking until I get all my certs to command a higher pay. Won't be long, might be in like 5 monthsTryna be a Pipe Welder and TIG welder, most likely in fabrication
