OP is right to a large degree but I think it has more to do with how the black man has been shown in the media ever since "media propaganda" became an effective tool to manipulate the image of whoever is targeted.

The black man is viewed as the worlds "entertainment". We are viewed as clowns and court jesters. A group not to be taken seriously.

If we aren't rapping, dancing or dunking basketballs we aren't really taken seriously as a group.

Everywhere you look (tv commercials, movies, billboards, magazines, etc) other groups of men are always dressed with style , grace, and maturity. Look at most commercials and the lead pitchman (almost always a white man), is dressed in business casual attire.

Meanwhile the black man (specifically young black men) are known for sagging and looking like the stereotypical rapper.

Hip-hop culture is keeping the black man in a perpetual state of adolescence appearance and mindset wise. Grown men walking around looking like they're 18 :snoop:

I saw a recent pic of Freeway & Beanie Seigal recently and they were both dressed like 15 year olds :snoop:

Its time to grow up.

And no, the OP didn't say anything about the white man treating us better if we change our style of dress. :comeon:

Has nothing to do with that, it has everything to do with how we view OURSELVES and each other. How we feel about ourselves must change. That's step #1

Good thread OP:salute:

I'm not surprised that most of these dudes don't get it.

Peace.

Agreed with everything except blaming Hip Hop. White people in Rock N Roll, Grunge, Metal, etc dress like bums, sissies, and vagabonds but they know the difference between entertainment and real life.

Its time to hold OURSELVES to that same standard. And also understanding that, like anything there is balance in Hip Hop. There is even balance within MAINSTREAM hip hop (Jay-Z, Nas, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar)

You're constantly trying to throw shade at muscular brolic brehs. Do they intimidate you or something?

Only on the coli do you gotta be frail to look good in a fitted suit.
:mjlol:
shyt is comical
only time i mention it is when threads on style & the tailoring cut fit of clothes come up

when it comes to tailoring things fit best on a particular type of frame

like i said it's just comes down to proportions & lines all that shyte

brolic cats & fat.boys run into similar issues when it comes to getting fitted

:yeshrug:

my grandpops was a tailor so my eye got sharp for this type of thing basically by osmosis

don't take it personally b

Nah, we slammin ass all night

Just by looking at the pics posted.. what’s so special about the way he’s dressed? I’m sure mad dudes have something that looks like most of them outfits. Also I’m not wearing a suit unless I have a reason to.. The greatest advice I was given was to at leaSt have a black suit and a blue suit. You’ll never know when they will come in handy. Boy I’m glad I listened..

Most men of African descent aren't built like white people... as you are suggesting with this link...
Breh...Ive seen all those body types among black men :dame:

Honest question - what do you think they missed?

@.number.(n)one.*

Your grandfather was a tailor...anything he mentioned to you that was specific to making shyt look right for brehs?
