OP is right to a large degree but I think it has more to do with how the black man has been shown in the media ever since "media propaganda" became an effective tool to manipulate the image of whoever is targeted.
The black man is viewed as the worlds "entertainment". We are viewed as clowns and court jesters. A group not to be taken seriously.
If we aren't rapping, dancing or dunking basketballs we aren't really taken seriously as a group.
Everywhere you look (tv commercials, movies, billboards, magazines, etc) other groups of men are always dressed with style , grace, and maturity. Look at most commercials and the lead pitchman (almost always a white man), is dressed in business casual attire.
Meanwhile the black man (specifically young black men) are known for sagging and looking like the stereotypical rapper.
Hip-hop culture is keeping the black man in a perpetual state of adolescence appearance and mindset wise. Grown men walking around looking like they're 18
I saw a recent pic of Freeway & Beanie Seigal recently and they were both dressed like 15 year olds
Its time to grow up.
And no, the OP didn't say anything about the white man treating us better if we change our style of dress.
Has nothing to do with that, it has everything to do with how we view OURSELVES and each other. How we feel about ourselves must change. That's step #1
Good thread OP
I'm not surprised that most of these dudes don't get it.
Peace.
