Tech people often get passes, they're expected to be hippyish like Steve Jobs. In fact, the glass ceiling works opposite with IT. People don't like old people in those positions, they feel like tech passes them buy, can't teach an old dog new trick type of thing. We need that department to be hip to new trends so they help us branch into new markets. Some old dude in suit isn't expected to know shyt about twitter. They generally want young hipsters in those roles these days, and they are type that are expected to have beards or dreads or piercings and whatnot.I highly doubt it. I write software. I'm a Team lead right now. Next step is managing people but it pays less and more stressful
