I highly doubt it. I write software. I'm a Team lead right now. Next step is managing people but it pays less and more stressful
Tech people often get passes, they're expected to be hippyish like Steve Jobs. In fact, the glass ceiling works opposite with IT. People don't like old people in those positions, they feel like tech passes them buy, can't teach an old dog new trick type of thing. We need that department to be hip to new trends so they help us branch into new markets. Some old dude in suit isn't expected to know shyt about twitter. They generally want young hipsters in those roles these days, and they are type that are expected to have beards or dreads or piercings and whatnot.

Im trying...but it just aint in me:snoop:....i wanna be a suit and tie bidness man like Stringer did.....but im just not....breh pointed out the importance of small talk in corporate America....and he may be right....because i tend to be a straight shooter in real life so i really fukkin hate small talk.

But i see my homie who is good at it prospering up here and im proud that he found his niche, i try to emulate him and it works for a while but i cant keep up the act:snoop:

I try but I can only take so much.
Not even talking about racism which is a big part.
I'm just not that guy. someone above said that it starts in high school. I was a loner with very few friends in high school and that carries over in corporate.
I don't want to have lunch with you, i'm not going to the party, I'll ask how your weekend was but that's it.

Guysss guyss. I made 130k last year in the corporate space. I'm the only black man in my damn office.

But I also opened a business early last year and made about 7k profit. This year I expect to make much more. I got a meeting with a Nigerian Business man next week at 4am EST which is 10a in Lagos.

Moral of the story is get your skills in corporate, become a star then start your own business. I don't give a damn about my current corporate job.

I feel like everyone around me is a dummy for the most part. I'm a CEO brehs.

I don't go to happy hour and all that shyt but going to work is just a part of life may as well make the best of it while you're there.

It should be noted that the corporate culture at my job is lax as fukk. I wear the same pair of Levi's and Jordan's to work every day.

I should probably wash these shyts at some point.

I watched a couple of minutes and will def finish it

But I think a big question is how high you want to go. A lot of times the big titles and even the money are not worth it. You also have create and understand your value. Someone who doesn't want to grow and be good at their job is basically disposable. Like dude said you have to play to win... but you also have to understand what you want to get out of the game.

Good video

That's a big IF. If they let you climb the ladder and get to that point. What's to say the won't let others climb over you and you stuck in that position?

I wouldn't play the corporate game, but if I did it would be more along the lines of making the boss money so he can see how valuable I am and laugh at all the ass kissers
The problem is your boss is a human being, not a robot. So part of your value unfortunately is how well you get along with him, not just how good you are at your job. If you do well but are a PITA and liability you might still get passed on despite being technically qualified.

There are a lot of bad bosses too. Thank God I don't have one. But a lot of people move into management just to have a bunch of people kissing their ass. They don't understand the purpose of the position. In that case you might be able to move up on nothing but ass kissing alone :snoop:

If you making him more money best believe he gone put you on game. It's not hard to act like a decent human being:yeshrug: I'm not about ass kissing, but bringing actual value to the company so they can put me on.
