If this was a black woman a lot of these replies would be different. :mjpls:
Not for me, if someone studies the culture and loves the music, go for it. It will be tough and scrutinizing and alienating, but if you learn the language and can sing? People will love you if you respect it & work hard at your craft to prove you aren't jumping on the bandwagon. If you inspire others to be part of a music scene they didn't think they could, who gives a fukk of what people think.... That's a win in my book.

This is true if you didn't grow up with a father.
NOPE.

I love how some of you try to categorize everything about someone with so little information about said person.

But if you must know....I grew up in a 2 parent home. And when my mother divorced/separated from my father, my father had custody of me and i lived with my dad alone for 5 years while my mother moved here to the U.S. I didnt live with my mom again until i was 16.
So try again, darling. :smugbiden:

You dont even know what your arguing. Rachel Dolizal or whatever wanted to be a black person, she wore blackface via tanning. This dude enjoys a culture. There are Mexican landmarks named after West African tribes such as the Mandingo, so whos to say he isnt connecting to his roots as West Africans were in Mexico prior to any Spanish person?

This is no diff then Anime nuts, are you saying blacks cant enjoy Anime or their playstations?

If you put a black kid in germany and he is the only black kid he will associate with the culture lf the majority. The guy acknowleges he is a black man and loves Mexican culture, is it weird? Sure. is it wrong? No. Once again there are natives in Mexico blacker than you so race has nothing to do with this, not being from Mexico on the other hand is room for argument.

If a black dude PERMED HIS HAIR, ADOPTED A JAPANESE NAME AND STARTED SPEAKING IN A JAPENESE ACCENT ONE DAY when he lived in The Bronx, NYC then yes that is cultural appropriation and being a culture vulture...I don't know if they'd be a c00n yet but it clearly doesn't show the best pride in black culture.

The black dude who is the only black dude in Germany or the black dude in 1933 adopting white mannerisms did that for survival. That is assimilation.

Assimilation is when you HAVE to adopt a culture to fend in a society..this is not the case here You do not need a mexican identity to survive in Compton LA :/

Hell, if he adopted a white persona, your argument could have been more valid since they are the dominating race in the USA.

A black man who wakes up one day and feels he should be 'mexican' and proceeds to don outfits and fake accents is a culture vulture

He did this for women. He said it his damn self. Stop making up reasons for him when he already told his own story.
