(Reuters) - Somali al Shabaab militants stoned a woman to death in the southern town of Barawe on Friday after a court they had set up declared her guilty of adultery, the militants and witnesses said.

The group, which pledges loyalty to al Qaeda, has waged an armed campaign to impose its strict interpretation of Islamic Sharia law. Forced out of many areas of the east African country by African Union forces and the Somali army, al Shabaab is keen to show it has authority over areas it still controls.

Hundreds gathered to watch the killing of Safia Ahmed Jimale in an open field. The 33-year old mother was buried up to her shoulders and pelted with stones by masked al Shabaab fighters and local men.

Some in the audience vomited, said resident Ahmed Abdullahi, who was in the crowd. The killing was witnessed by the al Shabaab governor for the region.

Her body was then dug out of the ground and carried away for funeral prayers, Abdullahi said.

A man who presented himself as an al Shabaab judge said Jimale had confessed to having three husbands. He said the three men were not aware they were married to the same woman and had testified against her.

Jimale had admitted her guilt before the court and declared she was ready to be stoned to secure God's forgiveness, said the unidentified judge.

Courts set up by the militants do not allow legal representation or appeals. Jimale's family could not be reached for comment.

Islamic practice in many Muslim countries permits a woman to have only one husband but a man can have as many as four wives.

Al Shabaab has banned many aspects of modern life and ordered executions, floggings and amputations for crimes such as theft. Its fighters has been harrying the government in the capital Mogadishu with a series of hit-and-run style gun and grenade attacks in recent years, following huge losses of territory.

1/4 Black women are in poverty. Literally 26%. The % for Black men is lower because they are more easily employed than Black men. Also men leave the family in this society where as it is much less likely for a woman to abandon her kids although it does happen. Black women are in poverty because they have most of the dependants while Black men usually have the option to leave

A recent Nielsen report shows that African American women are the drivers of many household purchasing decisions. The report, entitled “Powerful. Growing. Influential. The African American Consumer, “ took a closer look at the opinions and buying habits of female African American consumers.

Among the key takeaways is the fact that many African American women are greatly influenced by their culture and community. Roughly 62% of black women believe embracing and supporting their culture is important. Furthermore, about 59% feel a strong obligation to support minority businesses.

“Black women are one of the most powerful consumers because they are three times as likely to be the head of household than any other minority culture,” saysTarra Jackson (also known as Madam Money), a money expert who specializes in economic empowerment. “Marketers should pay attention to African American women because they control over 50% of the annual adult black purchasing and spending power,” Jackson continues.

Other key survey findings:

• 80% of black women agree that being aware of purchasing decisions is important.
• 63% are more likely to purchase a luxury vehicle than the general market.
• Black women are twice as likely to shop at Neiman Marcus than the general public.
• Close to 40% of black women consider themselves to be trendsetters.

Most sisters will be homeowners eventually, that article is right on, they tend to spend big, usually more than what they have and if they have to be alone so be it, that's how it goes. I know alot of this since most the women in my family own 300k homes, drive new cars and barely make 40k a year lol...

they borrow to survive but spend like they're rich, they're the opposite of frugal to stay the least, bm on the other hand tend to be more conservative especially if he's in a stable relantionship. Yes. Women have the privilege of not working, but still being able to provide for their children from govt assistance. True or false. Women cake off child support, wic, section 8, ebt. True or false?

Men either have to pay child support or go to jail

You can't cake off government assistance unless you have a very lucrative side hustle under the table. But a vast majority of the recipients don't so they're struggling by the 20th to make it to the 1st. And its not a woman thing its a children thing. Most of them have babies by broke men who can't/won't provide for their families for whatever reason. If you're getting a lot of money from your baby daddy from child support they will not approve you for any kind of assistance. If a man were to become a single father raising a child on his own because the mom is a deadbeat and he was living in poverty, he would receive money too. It just so happens that mostly black women step up to the plate and raise the children while the black men are out making more babies to abandon.
