What privilege? Honestly please explain. Within society black men have very little privilege. Few do but definitely not ALL which is what privilege means, all of the stated people benefit in some way. In what ways do black men have privilege in the black community? Men and women appear to succeed at the same rates. Are we taking about not having to be worried about being catcalled? Freedoms from gender stereotypes and discrimination? I don't know, I think black men's gender affects them in ways white males and black females will never understand or have to endure. As a black female people may follow me around a store, but I have yet to be pulled over thrown against the hood of a squad car for fitting the description, or pulled over at gunpoint for a minor traffic violation. Do you mean they have the freedom to walk down the street without worrying about sexual harassment! Maybe so, but they absolutely do not have the same freedom and other males. A black man walking alone is looked at with more suspicion and in my opinion is in danger walking by himself because again people/cops see black men alone as dangerous bogey men .

thank you sis

One thing I find annoying about black women (and I am attracted to them) is that they love to scream privilege and now they have sunk so low as to call black men privilege. What black women and men should focus on is white privilege not worrying about light skin dark skin debate and now black men privilege. To be clear, I do not agree that black men have privilege. Who you choose to suck and fukk is a choice, but when your choice is based off hate of another group then I begin to see you as a c00n.

But you read and agreed with the bullshyt black male privilege list. :usure:

Care to explain why that bogus list has any validity whatsoever?
first off, i aint "f up" or whatever you want to insinuate. I have not had time to read this whole thread so that is why I reserved judgement and my opinion on this thread.
If you cant get your head out of ass long enough to realize that the intersection of race and gender creates a experience for black women that is different from ours as black men, then there isnt much i can tell you.
Read some Patricia Hill Collins work on how misogyny works in our community.

At this point though, its almost useless to play comparative politics on this topic. We as a collective are still oppressed, and that is what we need to focus on. Not trying to compare who has it worse. Comparing rotten apples to rotten oranges does nothing because both fruits are trash. We have bigger fish to fry as a people.

and yet many BW use it to attack "black male patriarchy" so "We wont discuss who is oppressed more" isn't true, BW do all the time.

Well black women should be educated on how white supremacy works as a system to oppress people of color and gender, instead of arguing amongst each other about who is oppressed more in this system.

Why is it so hard to understand that we all have different types of privileges? As a black christian heterosexual American college educated female from a middle class home, I have to acknowledge I have privilege associated with my sexuality, religion, class, nationality, and education. Some of these privileged parts of my identity are amplified by other parts. Just because privilege increases with whiteness doesnt mean black folks dont reap the benefits (and entitlement/a$$holery) of other forms privilege, and yes that includes black heterosexual males too.
