We live in a time where we have legit alternatives that make some kind of effort to not only be entertaining, but don't go out of their way to show how much they hate their viewers or are comfortable with exhibiting racism or xenophobia both in front of the camera and behind it. There's so many choices to choose from to accept the product as it is and keep clinging onto the idea that TPTB are gonna be consistently good or switch up when they're making money hand over fist for their mediocrity.

I'm not tryna sell brehs that wanna stick with the E because of it's convenience. shyt, Hulu and TamiaTV (thanks to the brehs that put me on that) will make sure you don't put money in their pockets and reward them for not giving a fukk for 3/4s of the year. I'm just saying y'all got choices now. Choices that are accessible and will at the very least try to put effort in.

Hulu in a way is still putting money in their pocket but I recommend it as an alternative because they still put up NXT and the Takeovers and the Hulu live TV is very good quality and cheap. For $40 a month it's worth it if you off cable

This has been on my mind quite a bit lately. Speaking for myself, part of the reason I still consume the product in the way that I do is to support the Black talent they do have. Because I feel like if *we* don't have their backs, no one else will. We know Vince and them clearly dgaf about them and we can't trust a fanbase that goes from zero to racist in .2 seconds to hold our people down (look at the fury that was directed at The New Day and Titus when they didn't welcome Hogan back with open arms and all's forgiven) even when they *claim* they love them.

That being said, even though I'm still here I'm a lot more mindful of how I consume the product. I'm not a Neilson household so I don't factor into tv ratings. I don't watch on USA app or any mobile service or give them views on YT or participate in trending hashtags (because those are all metrics they can measure). I don't follow any official WWE pages on social media or interact with them. I don't go to shows. I try to limit the visible, measurable signs of support for the brand. It's the best compromise I've come up with so far.

The one thing I do that I remain conflicted about and wish I could find a way around is buying merch. I want to support my people b/c I know merch sales are an important metric for them but I also know they gotta split that money w/corporate and I hate knowing that *any* of my coins are going in the McMahons pockets. IDK, y'all. It's rough when you wanna support the people, but not the company they work for.

so we should continue to tolerate the racism just cause we've already tolerated it our whole lives? :jbhmm: interesting perspective

No

But you know what you’re getting from the WWF(E) based on history so bytching about it on a message board isn’t going to change anything.

Nyggas talking about “tolerating racism” but ain’t spent a damn second of their life trying to effect change in their neighborhood, ain’t mentor a child, ain’t done shyt for real, but want their soapbox to be “boycotting wrestling” :mjlol:

It’s carny shyt that we like. I’m not tuning in for a politically correct amalgam of life.
If I were, I wouldn’t watch fyckin wrestling :dead:

the only way New Day or Sasha or whatever is making money is off their merch, I'd like to say well they could always leave but it's terrible that they have no place to go. We as fans have alternatives but to actually make a living in wrestling outside of WWE unless it's with New Japan you gonna have a tough time, they'd really have to hustle like the young bucks

there's legit like 15 great black wrestlers in the E right now that deserve support, New Day, Lashley, Lio, Naomi, Sasha, Bianca, Cedric, Ricochet, Titus, Truth, Velveteen, Keith Lee, Apollo Crews, Shelton

but as a fan i'ma look at the bigger picture, if the money is lining the pockets of racists then that shyt don't sit right with me as a black dude :yeshrug:

it was their decision to "sell their souls" and join WWE so they gotta deal with that but me as a fan i gotta say enough is enough at some point

They really brought him back huh. Lashley probably lost so quick because he’s got a bad shoulder. That’s what I read at least, he’s been working through it.

I've been unsubscribed since Linda McMahon was installed to Trump's cabinet.

I watch NXT on HULU, but have otherwise transitioned to all the other 84 hours of wrestling content out there. There's too much, and too much of it good and entertaining, to keep dying of boredom and to keep supporting a friend of Toupee Fiasco.

(Oops. Missed the thread title. Not a black person of TSC.)

I also feel like leaving and working elsewhere is a complicated situation for folks like Naomi. Unless Jimmy left w/her (which I don't see happening) they would struggle for family time w/him working a WWE schedule and her trying to eat on the indies. That's not a strain most people would voluntarily put on their marriage.

I definitely understand and respect where you're coming from and I won't/don't criticize any of us who have reached a point where they can't bring themselves to support this company in any way, shape, or form.
