Black actor claims people loved a black led Star Trek show 30s years ago. Those same fans are now called toxic because of woke politics/DEI

I was never really a Star Trek fan, but I do remember Brooks getting some hate for Deep Space 9 back in the day. The first black captain of a ship in the Star Trek lore. Coming off Shatner and Picard. I also remember the lady captain on the other 90s Star Trek show(I can't remember the name of that show) getting some flack as well.

I tried to watch the show as a kid in the 90s because it was a black man in the lead but I just couldn't get into Star Trek.
He wasn't even a Captain at first, but a Commander.

Black people using the cracka definition of "woke" disgust me just as much as crackas. Dumb mafukkas have no clue what woke even means. Dave Chappelle stupid ass on that wave too with his wannabe white boy ass, talking bout "woke" and "cancel culture". :scust:
Been telling ppl bout that c00n, people was ok with his c00ning when it was mostly focused on trannys. I seen where his type was going

Avery was dope in American history X and even his earlier roles

Its crazy that him and charles s dutton 2 talented black men doesn’t even get any looks at for even a police sergeant role nowadays…

But we get kevin hart every other week
Avery is retired though. He's not interested in doing TV and movies.

Star Trek was always woke. They had episode even in the originals talking about racism.

i remember when kirk encounters a planet of aliens, where half the population is white on the left side and black on the right side, and the other half of the populace was white on the right and and black on the left. And they hated each other, Kirk helped them to understand how silly it was to discriminate based on appearance. Literal allegory for racism and how dumb it is in principle.

Show also got tons of flack back in day for having the first interracial kiss on camera, when kirk kissed ohura.
People calling it too woke now, either never watched back in the day, or were simply too dumb to understand.

That show was special. Highly reccomend. Rough season 1, but top notch writing, world building, etc.

Sisko was that guy. As was Odo, Quark, Bashir and of course the GOAT GAREK!
elim garak* was the fukking worst but DS9 is cool. im a TNG/TOS stan tho:yeshrug:

edit: i didnt realize he was the dad in the first Hellraiser (the one who gets his face peeled off)

If the OG Star Trek came out today they'd definitely be calling it DEI propaganda.
