Black actor claims people loved a black led Star Trek show 30s years ago. Those same fans are now called toxic because of woke politics/DEI

While we are on this topic, thread reminds me of this dope pic posted in TFR a while back of all the notable Black characters in the various Star Trek shows/movies over the years :wow:

CAC gonna CAC IRL but I love the on screen representation of Black people in the Star Trek franchise :ohlawd:

Surprised they got Culber on there.

Black people using the cracka definition of "woke" disgust me just as much as crackas. Dumb mafukkas have no clue what woke even means. Dave Chappelle stupid ass on that wave too with his wannabe white boy ass, talking bout "woke" and "cancel culture". :scust:

I was never really a Star Trek fan, but I do remember Brooks getting some hate for Deep Space 9 back in the day. The first black captain of a ship in the Star Trek lore. Coming off Shatner and Picard. I also remember the lady captain on the other 90s Star Trek show(I can't remember the name of that show) getting some flack as well.

I tried to watch the show as a kid in the 90s because it was a black man in the lead but I just couldn't get into Star Trek.

He got PAID. Wife probably made bank too. Plus even without :mjpls: shyt being on a show like Star Trek is a grind. A lot of the main actors seem to bow out afterwards.
Not bad, I just think him and a few solid actors from that era that should be revered a little more if they had a few more opps:

Joe Morton
James Avery (Debatable i know because Uncle Phil is a legendary character, but i guarantee no one else can name 2 other roles he was in without IMDB)
Jon Amos
Maybe...Blair Underwood (Just Cause is a great fukking movie, but he gets relegated to the pretty boy)
Harry Lennix
Malik Yoba (I know, I know...)
Robert Townsend
Leon
Michael Wright
Robert Guillaume
Hell Delroy Lindo and even Ernie Hudson

If we being real, a few legends barely escaped mid tier careers if it weren't for one lucky break; Samuel L, Fishburne, Giancarlo, JEJ, Morgan

It's hard to acknowledge racism or bullshyt when it's cacs writing their checks. :manny: I used to get upset but I get it now. There's more to gain tap dancing than there is being pro-black.

We didn't have social media back then, but belive me it was people that weren't happy about the characters existence. Also people were mad about a female lead with Janeway as well. I will also say nutrek is ass, but not for the reasons these racist fans think it is.

I could be off since I wasn't born then but I feel like the late 70s to early 80s was a time where the average black man could somewhat be at ease, more laid back and race relations were the best they ever were.

Then crakkas were like naw these folk are too at peace, let's flood crack into the neighborhoods. Then came gangsta rap to erode the minds of the youth further , then the Rodney king incident, Clinton crime bill, OJ etc. :francis:

Fast forward to the 2000s and things seemed to simmer down a bit once again, Obama gets elected and we think sht is sweet and boom it re-awakens crakkas into goin full MAGA...aka make a America a tough time for everyone that's not a straight white male again.:mjpls:
