If a Black person stumbled across this thread last year and listened to you and decided to open an FTX account, what would you say to them? If they listened to myself and others critical of crypto, they would’ve avoided this mess. You’ve caused more harm.

No my response would be the average new investor doesn’t know to do that. Based on his hyping up of crypto and dismissal of our criticisms, the average person would be more likely to open an FTX account if he convinced them to invest in crypto, especially since FTX had a massive marketing campaign. And yeah it is a red flag that someone has to be wary of keeping their crypto on a market leading exchange or brokerage.

Just like there is risk reward within options trading in the stock market. That person would have to use the opinions here and the confidence of their own research.
None of the pro-crypto people in this thread explained that their entire account could be lost in the event of brokerage or exchange bankruptcy.

Anyone who puts money in crypto does so at their own discretion. Nobody is forcedI've never recommended FTX. Ever.
Anyone with any genuine interest in crypto would go to the main btc thread (the one you were banned from for trolling) where it's been mentioned over 100 times by me and hundreds of other posters to:
- get a ledger or other cold wallet
- not leave large sums of crypto sitting on an exchange
Anyone who followed those basic ass steps would not be caught in this FTX mess.

most folks have their crypto on ledger or a wallet like metamask
the exchanges like coinbase are usually only used to buy eth/bitcoin and send to a wallet/ledger
