You need to research how the Celtics built their Bird led championship teams. Boston didn’t create a “Super Team”, they BUILT a team ORGANICALLY through drafts, free agency, and trades, not meeting the Dr. J in the Hamptons to join a team that just went to back to back finals.
Doesn’t matter. He was blessed and had a “super team”.

Kevin wouldn’t have never won 3 consecutive MVPs and 3 championships either.

Bird wouldn’t have left the Celtics after losing to the Sixers in the conference finals and join Dr. J and create a super duper team just to win rings either.

Bird wouldn’t have been disrespected publicly by a high valued role player either and leave the team with his tail between his legs because he was told that they won without him and really didn’t need him. Only to join 2 more FORCED super teams and still not win.
Now what if Bird was drafted by the Bullets and used as a Center experiment his first season?

Why would he? He was already on a “super team”. He and Magic’s teams were stacked in comparison to the league and both were on marquee franchises.

Magic and Bird’s teams are arguably the most stacked teams sans the Warriors in league history.
Bird was what made that team go. His passing is what opened everything up for the rest of the team. In 79 Maxwell, Cowens, Ford, Archibald played enough games to win more than the 29 they won. Mcadoo was on that team after the trade deadline and they still stunk. The same team in 80 get's rid of Mcadoo, Bird comes in and they win 61 games and lose in the ECF. Parish and Mchale came in 81. 89 Bird gets hurt the team goes 500. 90-92 was the Zombie version of Bird. 91 was a good team but never reached that championship contender level again.

Durant although young, was on stacked OKC teams. OKC Teams that had 3 guys who eventually won league MVP. Durant lost to the team who literally won the most games in NBA history, and joined them the very next year. I don't blame him for leaving OKC, but going to that Warriors team was a hoe move of epic proportions.

I meant otherwise excluding his GS run.

Bird was outscored by teammates in both the ‘82 and ‘84 Finals.

Never played in the ‘82 finals, wrong team

In the ‘81 finals His teammate average 17 points in that finals. Wow, smh. Larry Bird averaged 15.3 points, 15.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists. With a triple double and two 20 rebound games.

In ‘84 Bird WAS NOT out scored by any of his teammates.

Bird’s stat line for the finals
27.4 pts
14.0 reb,
3.6 ast
2.1 stl
1.1 block

The next closest player dropped 17ppg (Dennis Johnson)
And they won both series.

You seem to have your facts wrong breh.

You can't knock Bird for a 15 PPG in a winning series then excuse KD for not playing in series and still advancing.

The Celtics went from 29 to 61 wins upon drafting Bird, and this before assembling arguably the greatest frontcourt of all-time.

It doesn’t matter because it doesn’t fit your narrative, and it’s okay. Bird didn’t have a super team, he had a great team of all around players who didn’t care about stats. They seemed like a super team. Go back and check the stats of each individual player. Bird made them a “super team”, that couldn’t win without him. KD has his own “super team”, that he ran from to join another one, that won again when he left. Bird is better.

Expound. I don’t understand your point.
He was drafted by a world class organization with the history and knowledge on how to build a good team organically. Instead of KD being drafted by the Sonics who spent his entire rookie season playing him as a 6’10 shooting guard.
