Ignoring black people when they try to control THEIR spaces is a function of white privilege. Part of the reason why it's called white privilege is because it also applies to people who appear white. They can tap into the benefits of whiteness.

The way she reacted shows that they were 100% correct to keep her out. It's like racial dolezal continuing to insist she's black despite being exposed as a fraud.

"I can do and be anything I want. I can even be in your community whether you like it or not n...er" type energy.

If she came to them on some "I understand i may appear white and that may be disruptive, but i hope you reconsider if there's space. Love the mission of helping black women enjoy their hobbies in peace and want to be part of that" they may have come at them with different energy but her approach and response shows EXACTLY why her type isn't welcome in black spaces.
.
Openly holding “black only events” then getting mad at the backlash means there was never a code to uphold. You’re supposed to do that stuff coincidentally, not openly.

I dont wanna hear crying when other groups start picking up the same mantle in reverse. Some of yall really do not know the consequences of some of these selfish actions.

This is the same thing the Founders Fund tried to do. You’re supposed to ironically award the grant money to people you want to win, not exclude others from winning.

I support black functions and spaces…indirectly. The moment you start going around rubbing that in people’s faces, it will always backfire.

Real exclusion is QUIET, not LOUD.

Black Self-Sufficiency
She knows what she is doing. She is only being Black in this case for the convenience of joining in a contest for Black women. Her normal life is as a White women, based on what she calls herself and on all of those pictures shown. So far, I see no Black friends, only White ones.

My late step-grandfather could pass for White like her, but he married Black, all of his friends were Black, and his mentality was Black. White people would even try to say something sly about our people to him, until he let them know that he is Black.

Black is a race and a culture. It is what you are day to day, not just what you can switch to when it suits you. It is not a costume you can wear, it is who you are intrinsically. She, from the evidence so far, lives her life as a White woman. So while she has Black in her, if she is to believed, she does not identify with it at all unless it suits her.

You can accept her Blackness if you want, but I personally would not trust her. Not because of how how she looks, but because of how she carries herself and whom she solely surrounds herself with.

That means being black is performative. Is THIS the argument you really want to make?

Think before you respond. :sas2:

Being Black isn’t performative, but engaging with and supporting Black culture when it’s convenient is. If someone only acknowledges their Blackness when it benefits them but doesn’t actually immerse themselves in Black culture, relationships, or struggles, that’s when it becomes performative.

Yeah, "Black is black" crowd want more people to be considered Black not less. We are outnumbered already but making our numbers less is a good idea?

Cats need to read Black History in America. White passing Black folks would gain entry into white spaces, find resources, and bring'em back to the Black collective.

Adam Clayton Powell Jr. being a notable example of this.

😆 But how do you know she doesn't? Based on social media? What about black people who don't do the above? You never met nikkas that don't deal with black people? Are they not black anymore just because they don't fukk with black people? Like, I know I have a lot of questions, but this topic has turned a little interesting.

It's a Call of Duty tournament not auditions to be part of the revolution. Jesus.

she would have passed for whites, bred with whites and no body in her blood line would know outside of the random dna test.
I don't think that's show it worked. She'd be from a black family, on the black side of town and had to go to the black school. She couldn't just pass for white even if she wanted to.
