it is...the storyline isn’t the greatest but I love the characters/dialogue...I’m invested enough in the characters to ride it out and there’s enough fukkery to keep me entertained

would've just been for the best to have them take each other out with mutually assured destruction tactics and end the show after 3 seasons. The teaming up felt last minute to me and all of the feuds born out of it won't live up to Chuck vs Axe which was the whole purpose for the show. Plus knowing how Showtime drags shows out, I don't have a good feeling about this

No Whammies!!
The dialogue might be the worst part breh. Nobody talks like this in real life.

I like this show, and I think the season is off to a good start, but whenever they talk about movies the dialog is like .

I think watching "Succession" on HBO has exposed what to me is the big problem with Billions.
"Billions" thinks all the main characters are super-competent geniuses, and every thing they do an say is just so cool. The show is totally in love with all their little movie references, and thinks the audience feels smart and identifies with the characters when we "get" whatever Star Wars or Godfather cliché they're talking about.

"Succession" knows its characters are rich jerks and buffoons with little social skills or understanding of how money works in the real world. And no possible way to relate with us peasants.

‘succession’ was a pretty good show...I hope they bring it back...the depth HBO characters/stories provide prevent me from ever comparing their shows to anything on showtime...it’s like transformers vs. gobots...I can enjoy both but for far different reasons tho

I mean I like the show too bro. I just laugh at some of the dialog. Breh really went thru a whole diatribe about Al Green before telling the other dude he couldn’t give him the parking permit. :dahell:

Sorry but you and Mr Hate Coffee are simpletons who don't see the desperation and emptiness of most main characters, which will lead to the downfall of some for sure. Gotta look beyond the surface brehs

The writing has taken a dip this season. A lot of cringe worthy lines this episode. I hope the writers from past seasons didn't move to another show.

LOL, that's a little harsh.:yeshrug:
Years ago, I used to say the same kinds of things that you're saying about Entourage. I fooled myself into thinking there was some kind of hidden depth to Vincent Chase's struggle, that would lead to his rise and fall and ultimate redemption as a serious actor after he lost everything and all his fake friends, or something.

Looking back at that show, the surface was ALL there was to it the whole time.

I'm not saying that Billions is as dumb as Entourage...it IS aimed at a much higher class of audience. But I do think that the writers want us to think that the main characters (Chuck, Axe, Wendy, Wags, Taylor) are all cool super-geniuses, all at the very top of the top of their fields. If there's a downfall, it will probably be the result of being outplayed by some other super-genius, not because of something internal.

And to be honest other than the cringe-worthy dialog I think this season has actually been really entertaining so far.
