Nah you are very right about the "lifestyle"...
It seems some of these outta towners wanna be uncomfortable or come from "dead" areas of the country...
I've seen Cacs living in hoods that I dont even wanna be in...
Most people gotta game the system at some level to get by...
What in th-......nikka "us" as in the coli. We had a Meetup at the Taste.
Was me, my girl at the time, two other posters and one of their girls. Wasn't the usual people that come to the meetups.
Nah bruh...didn’t know the Coli was having meetups in Chicago.
How did that turnout
Um nah, celebs, especially those who aint even in the 8 figure and up bracket, try spending like the truly wealthy. These are people with hundreds of millions to billions of generational wealth, hedge fund, private equity guys who make hundreds of millions to over a damn billion per year. Like legit liquid hundred millionaires/billionaires, not just net worth/paper billionaires. Run of the mill celebs - athletes, artists, actors, etc - are living nice no doubt (well the ones who are legitimately caking - mariah carey, madonna, jay z, lebron, george clooney, etc), but they're not in the sphere of the folks who are truly at the top of the food chain. These rich folks spend like the celebrities, but there is no paparazzi to show their lavish expenditures. My sister's friend's husband is loaded. International banking. Never met him. Condo on the West Side. He's always away on business. Their home was really nice. Not lavish and crazy. They buy $200+ outfits for their baby like it's $30 to you and me.
Makes sense I remember watching a documentary a while back about Vancouver specifically being one of the most expensive cities to live in terms of housing. In addition to that, the executive of Huawei (the chinese electronics company) who was arrested in Canada waiting to be extradited to the US agreed to put one of her homes in Vancouver as part of her $10 million dollar bail. That's crazy.
But all this highlights how unbearable and expensive some cities in North America can be. In NYC, you do not get value for your dollar and the quality of life is poor for working class and middle class. You have to fight for everything from a seat on the train to a housing lottery to get decent "affordable" housing but seems everybody from all over wants to live there, its going to be that way for a while.
I love NYC, but man I'd seriously think of moving if I was lower/middle class there. Cost of living is so high, then you look at Houston or Atlanta and housing is so much cheaper. They're not NewYork City but still decent cities to live in.
Too far from home. Only city in my radar is DC or Philly. Philly pretty affordable. DC is expensive but a tad bit cheaper
Yea, if you have to be on the East coast yea, I like Philly a lot actually. Haven't been back in a while though. But Boston and NYC great cities to visit but couldn't live there if I wasn't making stupid money.

I was actually checking Boston rent the other day. Honestly the listings looked pricier than NYC rent (doubt it really is). Just randomly scrolling through with no specific neighborhood in mind.
