I can see why this is happening now. Keanu used to be so scared of being type cast into the dumb stoner surfer roles, that he wanted nothing to do with this movie.
Even when Matrix came out, people were like Keanu playing a hacker?
But fast forward he's more known for action movies than the Bill and Ted role. So no harm would come to him for doing this anymore, in fact ironically it's now a way for him to branch out into comedy so he doesn't get type cast into John Wick type movies.
