Motherfukker jumped on the Carmelo bandwagon.

I'm not sure if you meant to quote me but Bob Ryan is a fukking genius when it comes to basketball.

And that's why he works in the press. Buddy Ryan did 2000x more for Football than Bob has for basketball.

Ryan moreso than Simmons no doubt.. But even having said that.....

There is a huge difference from being a nerd of history to actually knowing the game.. Like I explained before at the Having encyclopedic knowledge of the game is one thing...



Where as someone like Doug Collins KNOWS the game from a perspective that has much more value than someone like Simmons could ever give.....


If you ask Doug Collins who the 34th pick in the 1977 draft was he wouldn't have a clue.. But he can break down how many pick and roll variations you can get out of a Flex offense in his sleep...

If you listen to a lot of Simmon's analysis he doesn't have that great of a grasp of a game at all..And I'm a fan of the guy....Just don't get carried away...

See you're stating the obvious. You're talking about someone whose been involved with the game professionally from a physical standpoint and trying to compare him to a guy who is basically a historian. So yeah I agree that someone who actually played the game at that level would know more but that doesn't mean we should gloss over the so called analyst. They have their place too.

I think you're wrong. Boston is racist as fukk but this guy has been huge into the NBA since his little shytty blogger days. I'm willing to accept that he's crazy into it.

You need to remember though.. he grew up idolizing Bird (the last cac, non-Euro, that truly mattered) so I'm sure there's a part of him that wishes non-Euro whites weren't obsolete.

What kind of pass? He's been a basketball fan since he was like 8 and a fan of one of the GOAT teams, going to their games since he was little. Not surprising he's so into basketball. A lot of Yankee fans who came up in the good years are the same way. Sh*t I was like 9 when I got into baseball (Mets) and despite the last 26 years, baseball is still my fav. sport.

At the end of the day I think he just really loves the game. He was writing that blog for years with no recognition and I'm sure little to no pay before he "blew up".
