My Pops Forever RIP

The reality is owners who want to be cheap are hiding behind the fear mongering of the taxes and aprons. Boston's literally running it back and paid everyone, when you have a championship core in place the restrictions mean nothing, it's about footing the bill. Denver lost KCP because they didn't want to go the extra financial mile for this Jokic window, ownership won their championship and said we're good

The audacity of this cac to talk about a 2nd apron :russ: Just tell the truth and admit you didn't want to further invest in an injury prone group that keeps falling short

the 2nd apron stuff wouldn't feel so punitive if it didn't factor in freezing of draft picks and inability to sign certain guys.

Cac is just mad to see the players getting paid huge money and masking it with this garbage take
Fool he’s clearly saying the opposite. The CBA limits degrees of freedom for spending money above tax threshold. And he’s saying instead of doing shyt like that there’s a plethora of other things you can do to make the league more attractive to viewers

I believe the new rules kick in after the summer. Now it will be hard to retain people like D White.

Instead he might have to go to a weak team to earn what he’s worth

The new CBA is trash and its all that hoe KD's fault

If that undisciplined weak hoe never went to Golden State the CBA wouldn't be as punitive as it is to teams

They should've added a provision that if you draft your own guys and resign them you won't be penalized with the tax against the cap

This is it, the NBAPA and owners never want a situation like what happened in 2016 where a championship caliber team can get a whole bunch of cap space and sign one of the best players in the league
Who do you think created that situation in the first place and it wasn’t the owners?

That situation would have never happened had the NBPA and Michelle Robert listened to the owners and smoothed the cap instead of the major cap spike that fukked over future FA’s and allowed GS to get Durant in the first place.

Derrick White already re-signed
Jaylen, D White, Tatum, Jrue are all signed long term
Kristaps still signed for 2 more years
They're fine as long as they pay luxury tax

Derozan situation is a combination of a few things .

1.Chicago offered him big money ,he turned them down .

2. Teams that had money to blow like the pistons are penalized for winning .So it makes no sense for them to offer him a bag. That’s not an apron thing ,that’s a lottery system issue

3. He/his agent thought shyt was sweet like previous years where players could get their money and dictate location. Those days might be over which at this point good riddance.

eliminate the max.

this shyt of teams feeling forced to give cats the max just because is dumb.
Nahhhhh make it even more restrictive in who qualifies for it and who doesn’t.

If you win awards or make All NBA team, then you should be awarded those deals.

Teams are just going to have to start pushing back on them and moving players like the Clippers and NO is doing now with Ingram.

The new owner(s) might not wanna pay $400+M for the team. I think KP is gonna be the odd man out, but it's probably something to worry about in 2-3 years.
