If we made a list of all the CBA changes and why they happened it’s mostly because of the media like All NBA teams used to be set by position but now they are positionless

The 65 game rule for awards was extra dumb especially since the schedule got fukked with Covid with the seasons being speed ran with shorter breaks of course most of the league got hurt.

When the Lakers won in tribute to the summer of George Floyd they wanted to open the season on MLK Day but then the league decided on Christmas but because TNT had the rights to ring night the Lakers opened the season on that Tuesday the 22nd.
Another thing was there wasn’t supposed to be an allstar game instead the guys were going to have a week off instead but they ended up doing the entire all star weekend in Atlanta the home of TNT.

It’s the same media who blocked Ime from getting the Nets job.

The same media that talked about how the 76ers and Nets should swap Ben Simmons & James Harden

Cac is just mad to see the players getting paid huge money and masking it with this garbage take
Bill takes league owners and gm’s side all the time.

These flyover cities deserve at least a shot to make a decent product.

Why are people so invested in where a player plays? Worry bout your team and good storylines, bill. This perspective/topic is boring

I think they should’ve added protections for teams who draft well.

Something like a reduced cap hit for the stars you drafted. This and or an uncapped player. You can only have one at a time. The catch is if you leave your original franchise you can never be an uncapped player again. Not even if you return.

Good franchise would be rewarded for drafting well and player development would become more important.

Btw in the episode itself, he acknowledges that as a Celtics fan, it's going to look like he's just biased. I don't know if that matters to anyone, but at least he gets ahead of it

To be fair, the Warriors are owned by an investment group. Lacob is the principal owner holding approximately 25%. The other minority owners may not be willing to forego dividends or even pay out of pocket to cover luxury taxes. To be honest, the other owners may not have the liquid assets to pay since they bought the team at a much lower valuation and the bulk of their net worth could be from their illiquid ownership stakes. You make a valid point about the Nuggets though since the family that owns them has vast wealth outside of the Nuggets.
This is the case with most sports owners/hyper-wealthy people. The Coli thinks they have $500M in liquidity to burn every year, they don't.
