Cmon, the 1992 team had the perimeter defense to stop it, Im not talking about Australia.

Not really. If they were pressed to top that than they CP3, Deron and Bron would have a field day driving to the basket.

There was NOTHING that the 92 dream team could have done to stop this 2012 team from one of their shooters from going on a personal run. Nothing.

The same way there's nothing the 2012 team could do to stop the 92 team from beasting in the paint.

Why is the latter accepted but it can be questioned that the 2012 team can be stopped on the perimeter? :birdman:

 wtf

that was the most exciting parts of the game

when melo went off:ohlawd:
dwill between the leg pass and finding melo at the top of the key

shyt was 2k status :ohlawd:

Im not saying it wasnt exciting. It is fun to watch...but the sustainability of the 3 point shot...especially against a team as talented as the 92 team...you're probably going to have to find another way to score.

yeah but they'd be met by Ewing and Robinson.

Id imagine the 92 team would even find a way to get them on the floor at the same time if need be.

It would have been an interesting matchup, but any team that lives and die with the 3....eventually you're going to play with fire. JMO

I don't think they needed to find another way to score.

NO ONE could stop them from three. No one. You can't remove yourself from the premise that Jordan or Pippen would stop them.
Man....lets get over the beliefs that they could. None of these NBA players can really guard each other without help.

Any non-olympic normal standards, yeah...you're right.

But this team was unique. It's guaranteed that ONE of them would be hot on any given night.

That's a fair point. There wasnt one game were they weren't hot.

why people act like jordan and pip could easily stop the likes of Lebron, KD and even Melo?

sure they were top notch perimeter defenders but lets not act like these nikkas can stop elite scorers at any given moment

2008 was a more complete team than 2012. We'll never know what the '12 team was truly capable of with Rose, Howard, Wade, Griffin, and Bosh all healthy.

Same goes with the dreamteam if you think about it. They picked the legends over better players. Larry Bird and Magic were part of the team because of who they were not because they were still the best.
Dominique Wilkins > Larry Bird in 1992
Mark Price/Joe Dumars > Magic in 1992

and fukking Christian Laettner was on the team. Shaq should have been on it.

Getting hot against Nigeria and Lithuania is one thing.....they aint getting the open looks to get hot against the length and speed that the perimeter players on the 92 Dream Team had.

Pippen and Jordan contesting some of those threes.....aint nobody getting hot for 37pts on that...I'm sorry.

I think Simmons summed it up pretty decent though.
