Bill Polian, as he ages, discloses more and more :mjpls: tendencies with every word he utters.

He harbors that "good ol' boy network" sensibility that says Black QBs aren't cerebral enough to make it in the NFL. That is not new, he is just exposing himself as belonging in that company of folks.

Quite simply, LJ needs to go somewhere where he can step in in a year or two and affect change, not a total rebuild. More like AZ than CLE or the NYJ. Put him in a culture that embraces him and his style, with AT LEAST ONE ready-made element of the team already in place (e.g., a good defense, or a good offensive line, or good skill-position players, etc.), and he's likely gonna shine. Ain't that what happened to DeShaun Watson?

If so, watch LJ ball out like Watson did, and all these biased analysts will have to eat crow....AGAIN. :stopitslime::ufdup:
DeShaun was a far better thrower and decision maker, especially against elite defenses, but I see where you’re coming from

Much better thrower, superior thrower. DeShaun decision making makes up for his accuracy quips. That and his high Football IQ that scouts don't like to talk about. The biggest difference is, Watson. Makes. Players. Around. Him. Better.

That's what makes the Rodgers, Brady, Peyton, Luck's great and it's what makes DeShaun great.

yeah its actually slightly offensive to compare Deshaun and Lamar. Lamar should be compared to like Trevone Boykin or some shyt throwing wise. Ive seen mans make some awful passes against mediocre competition last year. I fukk with his ability to make plays happen when he's given enough time, but his touch....its not there enough for me to even put him in the same lane as Deshaun.

Deshaun wasn't the greatest passer in college

this doesnt have anything to do with allen tho lol, my convo was about the breh who compared dude to Deshaun. I think Lamar would be a good backup for ATL and if they happened to get another cat with the QB development of Shanahan, he could be a problem with Julio, Sanu, Gabriel, etc, but more importantly, that read option threat would be brazy.

Im not shytting on Lamar, its just that if you watched dude last year, there were a TON of moments where he had some disheartening lapses throwing wise that would eventually overshadow the strides he did make (because of racist media? probably). You can ask the CFB thread and they'd back up most of what Im saying :manny: I think a team that runs an up tempo system, runs the read option semi-frequently, and takes several deep shots per game would serve well taking him.

He ain't no Boykin overall but his accuracy will probably not be more than average at best in his prime. His accuracy right now is below average and at times bad. One dude tried to compare him to Carr and Mahomes. I am not sure why nikkas so dense on this. Oh boy ain't all that accurate. The good is if teams spy their ass off, unlike Vick, he can make you pay. The bad news is unlike Vick, he don't have that 4.25 speed when nikkas is spying. 4.38-4.41 is nice but it's not 4.25.

To add, his Football IQ, isn't all that great. He ain't no dummy but he's not no Football savant.

This is where we might have to disagree, I think Lamar might be a step slower, but he has probably the best elusiveness Ive seen out of a QB maybe ever. Not to say Vick aint have moves, but Vick could rely on being probably a top 5 fastest athlete ever. Lamar really has transcendent vision and open move decision making (typically)

Their elusiveness is the same, it's that explosiveness, that Lamar has over Vick. His pop out of a break is better and he has better long speed which makes sense as he's taller.
