In all seriousness, I see what you’re saying with Darnold. I think he’ll be Cutler-level good but less of an underachiever. I don’t like Allen at all though. He’s pure hype IMO. Justifiable hype, but hype nonetheless. I’d take Mason Rudolph over him. That’s who I think will end up having the most team success besides Mayfield and Jackson, despite Rosen putting up better individual numbers than him.
1. Mayfield
2. Jackson
3. Rosen
4. Rudolph
5. Darnold
So much of this depends on where they land.
1. Mayfield is #1. I think he could go to any team who needs a QB and play well.
2. Rosen, his lack of intangibles makes the Jay Cutler comparisons scary. He is extremely talented as a passer.
3. Darnold, I am scared he goes to Cleveland. They need more help on O and D and almost never do anything in FA. Otherwise, I like him.
4. Allen, he has one of the highest ceilings in this class but one of the lowest floors.
5. Jackson, is one of the most talented players in this class for all players. (top 3) The problem I worry about is that if he has some bad personnel around him and they don't win, he's easy to move from as a franchise stance. This is why I am nervous on him. Team will quit on him and quickly. Think RG3. That's why situation matters so much for him.
6. Rudolph, has all of the measurables and tools to be a decent NFL QB in three-four years. Doesn't have the ability or passing skills to be more than a backup. Maybe develop into a system QB in 3-4 years.
7. L. Fauk, I always fall for QB's like this. Him, the kid from Boise State in 2011, a numerous others because their accuracy and feel for the game is sky high but their built and arm strength almost always kill their careers.
8. M. White, He's your typical Hackenberg prospect. A player who could be a below average backup but you hopes can develop the accuracy and the mindset to be a starter. These types used to pan out at times in the 90's but haven't in along time.
