i can speak of one in particular.. the west end (atl) in the 90s
we use to trap hard off campbellton rd and the word was out not
to fukk around anywhere near the west end masjid.. there were lots
junkies in the west end but even they knew they had to travel across
Cascade rd to cop anything.. imam jameel el-amin had the whole city
shook.. them young cats would approach u and give u 1 warning; after
that it was lights out..
maybe thats why el-amin was locked up for "shooting a cop"
w/ NO EVIDENCE
jameel el-amin = h. rap brown

this was also common in the 70s before crack hit all across america

I'm guessing Cosby meant that "historically speaking" you couldn't trap in a city full of NOI members....

I just don't know of any currently. Thanks for the reply.

definitely historically speaking.. its really an affirmation to how weak weve become too.. we dont speak up unless its behind a screen.. we let drugs tear our whole community apart and STILL reward those that do it..
the machine has won ugh

Countless black communities like Black Wall Street in Tulsa and elsewhere were primarily Christian. Integration and the loss of social capital had more to do with their failure th

Take a kid from 0 months to 12 years and give him no role models and no father in the home, he is gonna end up screwed up most of the time. Its gonna take generations to undo the damage. I don't see it happening overnight, but it will.

What Muslim neighborhoods was he referring to?

Anyone know?

If Bill was talking about Philly then he was likely referring to Germantown.

And I co-sign his point about how, as a community, black folks tend to just act like black-on-black violence is a natural occurence and only get motivated to take action of any kind if cops or whites kill black people.

"Bu bu bu but church is for women and God ain't real!" :flabbybron:

I love my pastor. She stays ripping Christians.

She broke it down a few months back talking about how she feels the church has failed the community in terms of holding each other accountable.

Cosby isn't saying anything new that many churches already talk about.

Simmons wrote a post on GlobalGrind.com about their confrontation at the awards dinner that has since been deleted. In the post, Simmons claims that Cosby refused to talk to him. “I wanted to find him to apologize,” Simmons wrote, “to tell him I was sorry about my statements and to tell him that I loved him.” Simmons was met with animosity from the Cos who reportedly told Uncle Russ to “get the f*ck out of my face.”

Fukk Russell and his high interest Rush Card.

I can speak on Cos' points personally, but some of you mentioned no fathers and shyt......I know a lot of f@cked up kids of all color and they all have a f@cked up parent.

It's crazy how much parenting can play a part in what a child grows into and how he/she interacts with the world around themselves.

It can be just as bad for the kids who have both parents as the ones who only have 1 too. There's all sorts of different levels of messed up.

Its not parenting its just kids are easily influenced.I seen people who grew up with both parents have criminal records. Then I seen kids who grew up with no mother and father and are very succcesful. Parenting excuse is just that an excuse.Your environment (friends)says alot about a child's life. Are these schools teaching them?.Cos has points, but what exactly is being done about the problem? What will get done? Cause face it rap music will always be here. There will always be fatherless kids.We been talking about this since the 80's and we still talking about it in 2013.

Well, a kid's mere nature makes them easily influenced. But you rather focus on rap music than broken homes. In what world does this even make sense.

These kids are trying to figure things out on their own. Teach a kid self-control, discipline, and respect and that kid will be able to at least control his destiny.

Cos is attacking the general apathy I see men have towards women, parents have towards their kids, and citizens have towards their fellow citizens. The foolishness that thrive in our neighborhood, would not be tolerated in other places.

At this point, people should be tired.
