Biggie was phenomenal to me, I loved him as an artist, he was blessed with some natural gifts and had mad skill too. He was creative, flow was dope, dope lyrics, he was a hugely skilled and brilliant artist. I don't think his balance can't be matched, I think it can, but there's nobody currently I've seen make the commercial records and the other dope records at the quality Biggie did . Biggie, Pun, Pac and maybe even Big L would have made an even bigger impact in the game had they lived. Their murders robbed us of the next phase of Hip Hop to me, as mainstream wise shyt would have been much better. There were certain MC's that conformed too much and acted as a transition to wackness, I don't believe the aforementioned MC's would have done it to that extent therefore the overall quality level would be higher and the tolerance for bullshyt and garbage would be lower.

Gimme the loot sounds rough and ameturish. I'm glad biggie progressed as an emcee, but lyrically and content-wise he just wasn't there yet. Plus he was headed towards shiny suits, wouldn't have been surprised to see him in a pink suit like naS.
