Team needs to start restricting players, no winter ball, no WBCs, no playing catch with the kids outside, :birdman:

Acuña is playing winter ball. I have no problem with players playing winter ball. It could be very helpful.

It was just a freak injury. The Diaz injury was much worse since it happened during a victory celebration.

I wonder how long it would take Aaron Rodgers' doctors to fix Mauricio. Shouldn't take as long due to the age difference

If we don't get Yamamoto, I want no parts of Blake Snell and if Montgomery's number/years gets high, I'd pass. Give me Imanaga and maybe like Giolito or somebody. We're gonna need the farm to step up pitching wise eventually and the free agent market next year is much better.

Even if we signed Yamamoto, it isn't like we're suddenly gonna be projected to win 90 games or something. They already put it in our minds that 2024 is a transition year so there's no reason people should be super disappointed (but of course they will cuz it's "King Cohen" and suddenly they'll call him cheap).

Yamamoto has dinner with Uncle Steve :ohhh:

MLB rumors: Yoshinobu Yamamoto has dinner with the Mets; Padres' payroll might be lower than expected

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto had dinner on Saturday at Mets owner Steve Cohen's house. Other invited guests included Cohen's wife, Alex, president of baseball operations David Stearns, manager Carlos Mendoza, and pitching coach Jeremy Hefner.

Yamamoto, who is expected to receive a contract worth more than $300 million according to what league sources have told CBS Sports, is considered one of the best pitchers in the world. The Mets, along with the Yankees and Dodgers, have long been identified as the three favorites to land him.

Hopefully they can get a deal in place
