NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
ehh, this album isn't doing it for me outside of lay up. just sounds generic IMO. i'm gonna give it a few more spins since i haven't really been in a hip hop mood, but nothing really caught me on this.
U not being in a hip hop mood explains it. And u not fukkin wit anything outside of Layup further drives the point home. U not in a hip hop mood. shyt has happened to me before where I had to revisit music cause I wasn’t in the mood for it at the time.

ehh, i gave it two plays. krit usually has songs that make me :noah: :lawd: :takedat: within the first 30 seconds, this was missing that aside from lay up. it's an ok album, but it feels like a generic slice of southern pie. like the beats on the song with TI and UGK sound like songs i've heard 10 times before since 2004....krit my nikka, but this one aint hitting for me, nothing sounds fresh.
I feel the same. That feeling I got listening to package store the first time or lions and lambs was :wow:

Maybe our expectations are too high for KRIT ... He has literally been in the same pocket for several years. This is who he is...or who he chooses to consistently present to his audience.

I felt like I heard all I needed to hear by the second album and def by the third.
Again, very consistent and conscientious with his craft and thoughtful with his message...but he has not pushed the envelope at all. You CAN NOT call an album classic that doesnt move the needle.

Please stop :damn:

I dunno man... He is who he is...needed album among the cesspool of rap but it ... It's more of pretty much the same.
I feel like there are two type of artists. You have a Kanye, who will make a completely different album each time.

Then you have a Sade. Sade and her band have stayed in the same lane for 30 years and has consistently made classics. Krit is in that lane. He has his sound, but I can have a session day and throw on Krit wuz here and end with this one easily and it will flow perfectly for how ever many hours.

Just my thoughts tho :yeshrug:

Everywhere...You never there.

Eh... Sade has kept the same moody overarching, dusky themes, but my last Sade album I bought was Lover's Rock, which wasn't received with unanimous praise... mainly because some critics said she didn't entirely fuse the soft rock elements into the album well. And that was a deviation from her norm.

Her latest album was also a deviation... she has taken chances.

Krit stays right in pocket. No deviation. I can't...

First CD is really great, maybe the best KRIT project ever. Second CD wasn't for me but I can appreciate the work put into it.

Great project by Krizzle

This is a great project by KRIT, not his best but an elite piece of music no doubt.

Tracks I'm feeling the most right now.

Big Krit Intro - Damn at the intensity & flow dude delivered on that. I stay running this one back.
Higher Calling - The vibe on this song is just so dope to me.
Price of Fame - Dope song & real life expression
Drinking Sessions - :mjcry:
Get up 2 Get Down - I'm hearing some element of a Scarface song from the Diary. No Tears or Jessie James, I'm not quite sure. Also the Scarface delivery he comes with on this:wow:
Aux Cord - Just Dope
Bury Me in Gold - A perfect metaphor and album closer.

This is more of project that you need to sit with and vibe to over the long haul. Although the bangers are all dope to me, the strength of this project are in the introspective, emotional, and mood tracks.

Krit is a rare gem to the hip hop community, dude never disappoints.
