KRIT is also his generation’s Scarface (i’m talking his full discography).

Like Face, his target audience is grown men. Grown black men to be exact and he knows how to write from the soul in a way I just don’t see his peers doing currently.

His rapper name is also fitting as I know he will be more revered in time similar to Face.
That’s who I always likened him to for the exact same reasons.

Full credits if they haven’t already been posted

I feel ya. Face is personally one of my favorite rappers ever.

From Scarface himself:

Scarface: [Dr. Dre] is the shyt! Period. Man, I’m gonna tell you something, man. So we can be real clear. A lot of artists don’t admit their influences. Ice Cube and Chuck D and [Big Daddy Kane] and [KRS-One] and Rakim and all them mutherfukkers, they influenced me. Marley Marl and Dre, they influenced my production. I always make music with the shyt that they did in mind. I have a blueprint to go off of. That’s my blueprint. The shyt those guys are doing. The shyt that those guys did. Those guys birthed me. From Marley and Dre came me. From Kane and Chuck D and Ice Cube came me. Now who came from behind me, I don’t know. But I love [Big K.R.I.T.]. I can hear a lot of me in K.R.I.T. and K.R.I.T. got the fukking blueprint. He got it. The work that I did didn’t go in vein. A lot of people don’t have the blueprint to go by so they don’t know how to make a record. They don’t know how to make songs and I give all of that to the people that I grew up listening to. I can’t ever see myself falling off because I know what it took to make people like me. I know what makes me fall out of like with people.

This is how an Outkast album would sound in 2022

I said the same thing I listened to this, and this reminds me big Outkast and Foreign Exchange vibes. A more mellow album from KRIT, but I dig it.

I'm from NY and we never hear KRIT on the radio here, I mean shyt does he even get radio play down south in the ATL or Texas?

Only time I’ve ever heard Krit played in Houston is around when “Country shyt” came out, and even that was pretty minimal, which is crazy cause his shows here have been dope and got a lot of love. Radio all over is pretty garbage though. Just seems like Top 40 music and your older local acts. There’s vets here that have consistently dropped music nearly every year, yet the radio hardly acknowledges their new stuff.

Thats a shame, I imagine even Scarface don't even get much play in Houston anymore. Only new dudes like Travis Scott and the Astroland click.
But radio is trash all over.

Yea I haven’t heard new Scarface at all, only have heard older stuff like Geto Boys, Sex Faces and Guess Who’s Back after all these years. As far as new artists here, it’s Meg and Travis mostly. Beatking has carved out a nice niche, I’ve heard him pretty regularly. Was surprised to hear a new Lil Keke song with Slim Thug, Z-Ro and Sauce Walka recently.

Was gonna post this earlier. I love these Off The Porch interviews. Outside of people like Krit who I’ve been a fan of, these vids have directly lead to me listening to certain peoples music for the first time.
