amex plat is garbage..i barely use it...its all about chase sapphire reserve
You have to really have both platinum and gold for the superpowers to be unlocked. Same with Chase Reserve since you need the freedom unlimited and preferred to complete the trinity and gain full access to their points system. I have two of the 3 with chase and I can tell you from experience if you stay on top of points offers Amex is the better platform.

I tried to rep as many as I could on this. shyt like this is crazy when people share good info. Props to all.

I’m living good off gold. My traveling is about to step up big time starting the new year all through 2022 so I’m thinking of getting the plat based off the info ya providing but I got the whole fam traveling with me so is it still worth it? Do I have to book my hotels and flights through Amex? These upgrades gonna be for me and the whole fam and who delivers the upgrades when I book the hotels and flights? I get to go to these airport lounges with the family and eat for free?? Appreciate in advance.

Yes to all as long as you have authorized users on your account. For mine for instance I have me and my wife, MIL, & SIL all as authorized users so we can bring my two daughters and my parents into the centurion lounge for free next month on our trip to Mexico/Belize. The welcome offer and 6 months intro 10x offer completely covered two resorts for 2 weeks for this vacation and I didn’t pay a single fukking dime :wow:

each authorized user gets 2 passes. As well if there isn’t a centurion lounge you still get access to the priority pass lounges which are still pretty nice. Yes you have to use the Amex portals but the fine resorts and hotels collections are fkn awesome and give you great prices. For instance I copped The Delano in Vegas for $180 per night (usually $600+). I walked up to concierge and they comped parking while also upgrading the room and the card gives you an additional $200 credit toward the room and a $100 credit towards food, basically stayed there for free for the weekend with the amount of money saved :wow:
Delano had its own pool and the peasants staying in the Mandalay were trying their best to pull up but had to go to the pool that was jam packed with fkn people while ours was secluded and much more quiet (better for my two babies and wife).

Flights also have to be booked through the app but they use hotels.com and Expedia so it’s the same pricing you would find on their websites except they give you a pay with points option.

yooooooo. You just kicked the illest game to me. Appreciate it fam. I just booked my damn hotel at the bellagio (thought I was balling till my friend downplayed that shyt like a mother fukker) for new year and went straight through the hotel to book it with my gold. Put my Costa Rica hotel reservation with gold and paid off my Jamaica trip with gold but I booked the hotels through their own website. :francis:. I gotta smarten up with the perks. Gonna apply for the plat to try and book a cruise and Turks and Caicos. These credits they give you back was part of the deal when you booked it? Or they just gave it to you or you had to look into your app and redeem something? I suck at looking at app but because of ya, I’m learning game

It’s automatic once you book through the fine hotels and resorts portion of the travel part of the app. And yeah all those hotels you would’ve got 5x the points on your bookings (with a platinum card), hell some hotel collection hotels are available to gold cards as well which would’ve given you 3x, get on the god damn app and use it

So I just got approved for a American express platinum card and it says I have no preset limit...is that a good or bad thing?

It’s normal
the card has a high limit and fluctuates with your spend
You can keep swiping until they stop you technically

Here this explains it
Unlike a traditional credit card, your Card has no preset spending limit, a unique feature that gives you flexible spending capacity.* This means the amount you can spend adapts based on factors such as your purchase, payment, and credit history..
