Also a score of 760 gets the same rates on cards and loans as someone 800+. After 760, the score is really just a number. Just shoot for that and you’re golden...School em breh.. High credit scores means you're consistently knocking out CC balances in a timely manner.. If you can do that, then a credit card means nothing to you.. Hell, even a high credit score isn't a big deal..
Cool. Resy.com has an affiliate offer with these cards where you get $250+ dining credit on the gold card (in lieu of some signup points) if you apply through that website. You just need to determine which card works best for you. Side by side comparison is below:

The $250+ Resy.com offer is here:
Resy | Right This Way
Just a note for consideration... the Platinum is purely a travel card and the Gold is an everyday card. If you plan on using the plat daily, you will rack up fewer points than the gold over time. The plat will get you 10x points at restaurants for the first 6 months and then drop to only 1 point per dollar permanently after. There are no grocery multipliers. The gold gets you the one time $250 credit from Resy (basically paying the annual fee first year), plus $150 dining credit at certain restaurants from AmEx, plus 4x points at restaurants and groceries permanently. So, even after you use up the $250, you still get the 4x points and $150 per year permanently. A lot of folks don’t see this and try to use the plat daily when it’s terrible for that. Ideally, you will want both cards.Good look breh. Crunching some numbers the Resy offer seems to be a better value. Glad I came upon this thread.

It’s a straight travel card and that’s the only way you gonna get your $700 worth when you decide to it’s nice free global entry, clear, lounges is drastically changing my experienceRight. I'm leaning towards the Gold, mainly because I don't travel frequently. However, based on my job, I will be eating out a lot (and paying for the meals of my staff, getting reimbursed). The perks of platinum look dope, but it wouldn't make sense to me at my current job position. Next year however, that will probably change.
That’s what paid for my resort in Mexico. They are handing away free money right now, I was content with my Sapphire and Blue cash card but they upped the point from 75k to 100k to 125k to now 150k. That’s too much money to walk away from.I just checked out the Amex link...150k points offer for the Platimum and 75k for Gold...
Cool. After you are approved, whether you choose gold or plat you can request a Platinum or gold additionally at any time without a hard inquiry...they’ll just give it to you. However, you have to choose which card and bonus you really want as once you get that first card and bonus and then later request a different card, you don’t get any bonuses with the new card. This, the offers are different though. I get 10x on groceries and gas for the first 6 months, after that I dial it back and plan on flipping my blue cash card into a gold card specifically for this purpose since points are transferable between gold and plat. I’m just waiting for a slightly sweeter offer on the gold card, I’m not fond of it because it’s less exclusive but free money is free money when it comes to these Fkn cc companies.Just a note for consideration... the Platinum is purely a travel card and the Gold is an everyday card. Did you just get the plat? If you’re using the 10x multiplier for restaurants, that means you’ve had it 6 months or less. If you try to flip an AmEx to another in the span of less than 48 months, you get no bonus offers. The bonuses are for new signups only. This, the offers are different though. The platinum also comes with 3 authorized users for $175 or free gold card members but I plan on using that introductory points offer instead of sliding in for free on gold on their dime instead of mine.
Nah I got it beginning of this year around February.Did you just get the plat? If you’re using the 10x multiplier for restaurants, that means you’ve had it 6 months or less. Gold? Peasants
Platinum Gang here
You have to keep stepping up in cards to get to that level, Amex ain’t sending out no preapprovals for anything outside a blue cash card
Start with a Cap 1 Quicksilver, then Discover card and get that limit up to about $15k then go to the Chase Sapphire Reserve which I think my limit is $25k, from there the Amex Plat should open up. Don’t waste your tile with a gold card I don’t even think the benefits outweigh the annual fee
Ok, so yeah, you are new to plat. I believe you’ll have to apply for the gold card because you can’t product change a cash back card to a rewards card with AmEx. However, by applying, you should be able to get the bonus.Nah I got it beginning of this year around February.
My blue cash which I plan on converting is 8 years old so it’s time to flip it.
