This by a mile, we tried the Cap 1 venture card and it’s a clown show compared to the platinum card. The only other goats higher are that Barclays card (which may not even be fkn around anymore) and the Amex Black card which no one here probably has. I should have one by my late 40’s (possibly sooner) depending on how I play my cards. That $10k APPLICATION fee thoughAMEX Platinum is the GOAT card. The annual fee pays for itself many times over if you use the card. It’s my main card. The only time I felt I didn’t get crazy value for the fee was 2020 when travel was halted. Still at the end of the year got two round trip tickets to Japan $1400 and didn’t pay a dime.

Yeah…..10k application? So that means if you get denied the $10k disappears faster than Chris angel
amex is thirsty and agressive right now an people are geeting approved in thehigh 600s just make sure utilzation on other cards is excelled.Credit gurus, I have been working hard to improve my score and it has been working great.
I know time is everything when building credit but My question though is, when do I start receiving pre approved letters from the big boy companies; Amex, Chase, etc
Of course that’s not the main focus on why I am working on my credit life but I bet it feels great when you get a pre approved letter for AMEX GOLD
What’s that score that helps open some of these doors?
Yeah…..
They run a full credit profile on you too with earning statements for 3 years as well as all bills you pay and other cards you have to make sure you are truly a baller. Invite only also, mostly unless you’re a rapper or athlete
Congrats! Many aren’t nearly as lucky and you’re right about cc companies being a little on the desperate side since nobody was spending money on frivolous shyt in 2020amex is thirsty and agressive right now an people are geeting approved in thehigh 600s just make sure utilzation on other cards is excelled.

Yea, I heard about the stuff they do for their members. Crazy...but for that money I would be the same way. They better go to the moon and bring me back a moon rock if I ask for it...
Status at all hotels and airlines though is worth it by itself
I think you get auto upgrades on both when booking through concierge. There’s been some wild ass stories of concierge driving across 3 countries on motorcycle to deliver sand from a specific beach for a child’s science fair project in Europe

Keep utilization under 30%
just check to see if you pre-qualify for any AmEx cards....no impact to your credit. Contrary to what folks believe, these cards aren’t hard to get. It’s actually harder to get a chase card than an AmEx....
