2. its on there because they are trying to add things for people who still are not traveling frequently due to covid. most americans wont even take an international trip right now. those people really need to cancel the card and they doing things for them
AMEX has to offer something and they have to balance that something with what it will cost them. the equinox thing is low cost for AMEX because equinox isn't even in most markets. I think AMEX knows what there doing with this move. as long as i get my 5x on travel purchases, lounges and other perks im good.
the clear credit was clutch to me

think its good for the sign up bonus if you choosing the chase ecosystem. that means if your into travel then your also chosing saffire over amex platinum.
I have the vanilla freedom card and it’s clutch for me. Use it at Costco mainly

you not going to have to go to walmart. they have positioned themselves to compete against amazon in the free shipping space so its going mean aditional convenience in free shipping and services which i think the average platinum card holder can find value in
We have a neighborhood Walmart that’s pretty nice in an upscale neighborhood not far from the house. I think it’s free grocery delivery and a couple other small perks so I’m down if it’s free or next to free.
Soulcycle will be good to hit up for a change of pace during my workouts too as long as it’s free or you pay for classes one at a time and I’ll go for however much the free limit is.
Sixt is bigger overseas so if we get to use those bennies in Europe those Mercedes rentals are nice, we already have status with Hertz, Avis, and National on the platinum so this gives us one additional option.

Yeah if it was like $100 off their $200 per month membership I would sign up and pay the difference but $35 on a $220 per month membership with no trainers and only 1 location in Houston?

I just joined the AMEX club a couple months ago. My credit isn't even that great. It's between 690-720 depending on which system you go by. I thought for sure I'd get turned down.
