I will say I’m not a fan of Putin and his window balcony policies, but I heard that Putin originally wanted in NATO and US said nah. The deal was, no NATO countries around Russia. Of course, no one held up their end of the deal and the biggest trigger was Ukraine wanting to Join NATO.

We are supporting them during their war with a country that we are aligned against. Where or what country do you think a large part of the defense budget has been spent to potentially combat, for around 80 years? Even if you do not give a shyt about Ukraine, being able to damage an country we have been against for almost a century that actively interferes with our internal politics is a win.
