Between Stop and Frisk & justifying Redlining, how can any black person support Bloomberg?

need to know who he'd be looking to vet for SCOTUS and fed court openings, that is the only thing that would make me vote for him - commitment to liberalizing the judicial system.

This. He's right down there with Buttigeg on the list of Dems I wouldn't "support", but if it was him or Trump I'd hold my nose.

I'm just really, really not trying to see Trump put anybody else on the SC.

The only reason he's in the Dem race is the GOP won't allow anyone to primary Trump. He's going to run as an Independent when the dust settles and chip away at Trump's base. He's everything they like about Trump, but smarter. The racism is a feature, not a bug of his campaign. :sas2:
this will hurt whoever the dem candidate is more than trump. trump's base aren't voting for anybody else they worship him

"Trump is a racist scumbag who was personally involved in discrimination against black people as a private citizen".

Implies it ends there.

You go on to highlight Bloomberg's history with law enforcement without pointing out Trump's as president.

You then go on to highlight Bloomberg's comments about redlining and skip over Trump Org and Trump personally participating in redlining for idk 60+ years(I would imagine it never ended)...
One would think you would want to detail that instead of making a vague comment at the beginning of your post.

"Objectively, I don't see how anyone can say Trump is worse when it comes to black people. Trump is worse when it comes to other minorities, but no way he is worse with black people than this POS Bloomberg".

This I fundamentally disagree with and relayed above. I don't think any human being should be the treated the way the Trump administration has treated other minorities either.

I'm sure your heart is in the right place but this statement felt really off. Nothing personal.

Yeah, lets not get lost in the weeds. There is no way I can vote for either of these scumbags.

The simple answer wold be that because all of his policies aren't bad and he's better than Trump.

But I don't see a lot of Black people supporting him so I don't put much thought into this hypothetical

I would think black folks wouldn't support him, but his polling in South Carolina seems to be pretty good for whatever reason :wtf:

What do they worship about him most? His "wealth". The appearance of being a successful billionaire businessman gives him clout among the po whyte trash that rock the MAGA snap backs. There's a reason he won't release his taxes because if they knew he wasn't as rich as he cast himself to be, they won't bang with him.

Bloomberg checks all those boxes with the receipts to back it. Bloomberg and other super rich NYers loathe Trump for faking the funk. He knows how to hit trump where it hurts and that base is here for all the petty and school yard insults. The fact that he's a confirmed bigot is even more appealing to them.

Bloomberg won't hurt the dem nominee in a 3rd party scenario. He's going to more of a foil to Trump the way Perot was to Bush.

Higher learning lol where the wannabe republicans pretend to be progressives. Just find yourself a moderate republican somewhere and support him or her please stop pretending you’re any kind of progressive by saying Bloomberg’s policies aren’t that bad. Name a single Bloomberg policy proposal on the federal level right now @Pressure

It’s fascinating, and sobering, to see the level of black support Bloomberg’s getting. People complain about politicians being inauthentic, and yet here we have a candidate who was a staunch proponent of policies of harassing a whole damn generation of young black men (myself included), right up until the time he decided to explore a run for president.

He defended the policy long after he left office. Long after it had been shown that crime continued to fall in NYC after stop and frisk was curtailed, he was still saying it was necessary to keep the city from descending into chaos. And yet he should just be believed because he finally said “I was wrong, I’m sorry”, right before running for the Democratic nomination for president?

I didn’t vote for him for his third term as mayor and I’ll be damned if I vote for him to be the Democratic nominee. If he somehow wins the nomination, I honestly might vote for everything except the president. NY’s in the bag for whoever ends up being the Democratic nominee anyway, so I’ll just vote for all of the other offices on the ballot.

fukk Bloomberg :pacspit:
