No I dont. I think that being "lyrical" is overrated.

MC means move the crowd.

Just cuz Jeezy isnt a b*stard child of the Rakim/Kool G Rap/Kane family tree of emcees like Jay & Nas doesnt mean he can't rap.

And Buddens brings nothing new to rap as a lyricist. Nothing new with his flow. Nothing new with his beats.

I own his first album on vinyl. Its a weedplate and he sounds like a bootleg Jay-Z. He's got more of his own sound now, but he's still not bringing anything I need to hear to rap. I'm not depressed. Life Is Good.

and Jeezy does???

TM101 and The Recession are classic albums, say what you want but they had the hits, sales, impact, and the music so to say they're not is just hate for a lyrically inferior artist making classic material.

With that being said Jeezy is NOWHERE near the rapper Buddens is, he doesn't have better flow, subject matter, lyrics, or punchlines then Buddens nor has he murdered more emcees then Buddens so no I wouldn't say Jeezy is a better rapper

and Jeezy does???

No.

Its a wash.

People act like Budden is some kind of elite lyricist, but if you surveyed a 100 people on the skreets they wouldnt be able to give you one memorable line.

Not one.

Absolutely. I am from Houston and lived their all of my life. You out of town fakkits only feel comfortable saying stupid shyt like Young Jeezy is a better artist than Joe Budden because the South has taken over the map.

By this same dumb ass logic, Young Jeezy is a better artist than Jadakiss too. You fukkboys know rap but don't respect it.

The reason why acts like Jeezy are able to thrive today is because of advanced studio effects, over compensating beats, and catch nursery rhyme hooks.

Guess what fakkits? That is not what rap is about. That is what it has devolved to, in a successful attempt to cater to outsiders but any real critic knows thats not what makes an artist.

Aside from the fact that they are not even in the same genre music wise judging by today's standards make this thread even dumber, but the bottom line is that being a great rap artist is about being able to contruct great bars and hooks that are timeless like art.

Jeezy is a product of lil jon-esque production, attempts at east coast punchlines and swag and glorifying drugs and street life with no consequence even though Gucci showed the world a consequence of all that tough talk.

You dudes have been dikkriding for so long that yall have fully bought into bullshyt and it is sad.

The average nikka on the street doesn't respect lyricism. You could ask them to give you some memorable Lupe lines and I bet they couldn't do that either.

So I guess you think rap is about trying to be complex, depressing poetry, that drives away listeners?

You dont know what the fukk your talking about. Rappers originally played 2nd fiddle to the DJ. Spitting some boring ass 16 has nothing to do with real Hip Hop.

And as far as making memorable music Jeezy > Buddens

Get mad.

Lupe is a real lyricist tho Buddens is just masquerading as one.
