People call RTD a classic and it didn’t get 5 either. So what nikka? RD not getting 5 mics ain’t even the argument against it. It’s always been about it’s lack of commercial OR cultural impact and it being rewritten as this undisputed groundbreaking album. The album was always fire.

This

Rd was received as mid when it dropped

When X dropped get at me dog he had nyc on lock... Nothing was shaking like X.

X also had wild competition when he dropped his debut.

Damn we was blessed in highschool with the quality of music we received.

It’s always impact/ sales lol when homey wasn’t selling

Those the main factors yall use to argue his greatness so what you expect? Unless you comparing him to Pac and BIG or talking about anything before 98, then the criteria change

It's tough but Reasonable Doubt is more my style. It's Dark has a couple filler joints and overall I'm not a huge fan of Dame Grease's production - however it's good enough that the energy and DMX's performance helps elevate it. But i'm far more likely to go to back to RD if I want to listen to some shyt,

Wtf jay is where he at because his rap skills. His words are quoted more than any rapper. Like y’all say he never was the hottest rapper. But he still is the guy that is labeled number 1

Sales and accolades are icing on the cake showing his consistency. But no rapper dead or alive words made more impact than Jay Z

It took a while for Jay to find his voice. Reasonable Doubt is good I remember running so many miles listening to that album but DMX is so unique. Jay Z was trying to fit in with the times. DMX didn't give a fukk and it paid off

This is one of the most disturbing lyrics in hip hop. Mostly because of what's implied and the image it painted

"I'm drunk, so I'ma bash his head wide open (uh)
Begging me to stop but at least he died hopin'"

I spend hours thinking about that lyric, begging me to stop but at least he died hoping. It's so cold but the cruel way he sees the bright side for his victim. Almost like he's being brutal but merciful at the same time.
