that entire year was part of the attitude era.

they started branding it as the attitude era in like January/February.

eh, maybe, I would say probably more like March/April after they changed the Raw set, the booking got edgier and the crash tv style really took hold as the year progressed.

When Vince did that "Grey Area" Promo Post Screwjob,The Attitude Era was ready to go

Yeah, to me, this is when the 'attitude era' really starting becoming a 'thing' (late '97) I don't think they started airing those 'WWF Attitde' commercials until around that time and then in '98 Attitude really became a commodity where they were selling attitude t-shirts and had banners in the arenas and shyt like that.

WCW had some fire, but when you go back to revisit stuff, you realize how much the NWO dwarfed WCW in every aspect. NWO got too big for it's britches, and creative had no clue how to end it. WWF overall in 1997 may have been one of it's best years ever. Not only were you having really good matches, but so many characters were being developed and had layers, and not only the main eventers.

so we're penalizing WCW for having a great storyline that dwarfed the rest of the wrestling world altogether?

meanwhile, we're rewarding WWF mediocrity just because?? and where were all these 'really good' WWF matches? WCW would routinely have midcard matches on free-tv that blow away 95% of these so-called great WWF matches.

Not what I meant at all. Dwarfed as in totally revolving around it to the point where it was a detriment. What great storylines did Vincent and VK Wallstreet bring? And what mediocrity from the WWF did I mention? The WWF's mediocrity was in 1995 and the current product.

most of the matches were struggle. that's mediocrity.
even when they tried to bring in luchadors, they brought in old, slow, out-of--shape Mexican wrestlers.

list goes on & on & on.

Almost through January of WCW, dope AF compared to the WWE today of course :scust:

But still lacking a lot of midcard storylines

On the Nitro where Macho Man just returned. Debating watching the PPVs too, but the first one up is Souled Out :scust:

Might have to make a watch party for others to "enjoy" that shyt with me
