After doing my 97 WWF/WCW Watch Through...I would say WCW had the better PPVs(SummerSlam was very Dope tho...Superbrawl and Un censored were my main PPV Faves) but WWF did have the better Monday Night Shows wit Bret and The Foundation vs Austin and later DX fukkery running wild on it

WCW by a mile.

Mysterio, Jericho, Benoit, Dean Malenko, Hogan, Sting, Flair, Nash, Hall, I think Goldberg began around '97, DDP, etc. . .

WWF was just starting to get good again with Bret/Stone Cold and the Canada vs. America stuff.

Early in '97 WCW was better, but by the summer I felt that Raw was a better show. Nitro seemed to be on cruise control.

even if you think raw was the better Monday show(which I don't), you gotta realize that there was way more to this than just Monday nights.

raw was the only good show that the wwf had, while wcw had like 5 other hours of quality programming.
and their wcw's pay-per views were usually better as well.

im not even sure if it'd put the WWF over ECW in 97.

Yeah, I was only commenting on the Monday shows. I agree that as a whole WCW offered a better product in 1997 from start the finish (and they should've been better given the amount of star power they had compared to WWF). The Hogan/Sting feud was the hottest of that year and Starrcade did huge business because of it (and WCW botched the match in classic fashion) The NWO was still hot and they had a great undercard featuring the cruiserweight division. No question, WCW was hotter as WWF was in a transition period in '97 setting groundwork for what would become the attitude era(their product in late 97 was vastly different than what they were offering in January 97). Their PPV's were pretty good (they got better as the year went along, IMO) for what they had to work with but they didn't have the roster depth to really give you great undercard like WCW could.

that entire year was part of the attitude era.

they started branding it as the attitude era in like January/February.
