“The scientific evidence for the effects of closing schools is weak and disputed,” said Camilla Stoltenberg, director general of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, which has advised Norway’s pandemic response.

She said that although she supported her country’s March lockdown, it was less clear that Norway needed to close schools. “We should all have second thoughts about whether it was really necessary,” she said. “We see now that, after having opened schools, we haven’t had any outbreaks.”

They are desperate to not pay for another stimulus package and unemployment. They are literally hoping the shyt will go away by next month and gambling on kids. If kids go back to school you can't make excuses on staying home and not working and if you work no more help.. These people are the definition of evil. but none of this matters they gonna back down before school opens. if they dont its gonna cost them alot more than they think

Norway also only had 11 new cases yesterday.

This is fukking misleading and irrelevant.

Did Norway have an upward exponential trajectory of cases when opening schools? Did Norway have over 3 million cases of coronavirus when opening schools? Did Norway have piss poor contact tracing when opening schools? Did Norway have overcrowding and underfunding in a majority of their school districts when opening? Did Norway have a loud minority of people who refused to wear a mask and social distance when opening?

If the answer to any one of those questions is NO then Shut THE fukk Up with the bullshyt...

We not talking sacrificing just grandma here... we are talking sacrificing our children....
Why are y’all willing to risk your kids lives to prove a political point :dahell:

Y’all can’t have kids talking this nonsense...

sounds more absolute than relative (based on Norway’s numbers)

scientific evidence for the closing of schools (no matter the numbers) are weak and disputed

A lot of parents ain't shyt cause they was complaining about schools closing when it happened and mad they had to deal with their kids all day:mjlol:

Imagine complaining during a pandemic that you have to spend all day with your children instead of sending them to possibly get a deadly virus:wow:

And the fact that we don't rebel over the sheer level of incompetence that is running our country right now makes us just as stupid.

We're literally at the point where we need to pick up pitchforks, descend upon, and kick everyone on capital hill and 1600 pennysylvania ave out.
We've been past that point.

Scientific numbers involving closing are weak?! That is bullshyt logic.

Because there haven’t been many studies that show children are at risk in a school setting when 3 million people are infected with a deadly novel virus you think there is no justification for closing schools :dahell:....

Do you have children? How many cases of children infecting other children or adults infecting children do you need to see before you would want to isolate your child? How much scientific evidence would you need before you chose drastic measures to save your child?
Up to 147 NYC Kids Sickened by Severe New COVID Syndrome; 15 Cases Confirmed in NJ

About 100 N.Y. Children Treated for Illness Tied to Virus

Bars and restaurants are still closed. If governments have to protect ADULTS by closing large gathering places, why won’t they protect children by doing the same?

You all still haven't caught on that these COVID-19 responses are NOT ABOUT THE VIRUS and is more about opportunism? The people who want everything shut down are promoting it to hurt Trump's chances at re-election. They are not doing it to "protect the children". This country isn't new to pandemics and it isn't anywhere close to The Last of Us outside. :dahell::why:

Do you have children because those numbers are low versus the amount of cases that go unreported (and reported) of domestic/child abuse because children aren’t in school
Local Organizations Offering Support for Abuse Victims Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Child Abuse Cases Drop 51 Percent. The Authorities Are Very Worried.

Covid isn’t the “pandemic” a lot of children face during these times. Lack of adequate nutrition and guardians who neglect and abuse their children sharply increased due to the stay at home order—that’s according to social workers I know. One of which had to actually take a child and house them temporarily at their own apt.

I get it. You aren’t a bad person because you want to keep children safe from Covid-19. What I’m saying is don’t be so short-sided with a lack of perspective of other damages to children that ARE occurring due to the stay at home/schools closing

I'm on both sides of the fence with this cause you CAN make an argument for both sides. My son is entering the 2nd grade and he was very disinterested in the virtual learning and he learned better in classroom setting. Also, my wife and I both work from home and we don't have that much time during our work schedules to help with his work (we also will have twins starting VPK this year). So yes, for his academic progress, I know he'd learn better in the classroom than at home and it would be better for him from a learning standpoint. That's looking at it from strictly a learning standpoint.

But sending them to school just FEELS like a death trap and i'm not going to send my son to school if there's an option for virtual learning. My job production will take a hit and i'll risk losing my job if it means I have to devote more time during school hours to help him when he's not in virtual learning. I just don't want to take that risk AT ALL. If jobs aren't having us work in the office but schools saying send the kids back to school, that shyt just will make me feel guilty as hell bruh. I can't shake that feeling at all.

IMO, The lessons should be recorded.

That way parents can go back over topics after business hours.
