I don't think anyone worth thought would say Minecraft was going to go out. By then, it was the biggest all-age entity since Pokemon that I've seen. If anything, it was a question on how embedded into pop culture it would become.
Overpaid? Maybe. But the IP has grown that much, if not more, today. I say that as someone who was onto Minecraft since its inception as a Java applet for the browser with almost no features.
If anything, the biggest concern then was MS fukking it up - which they already had the groundwork for.
