I'll always defend that album tbh its bloated and the beats could be better but it has some fire work

Weirdly enough I fukks with the 2nd disc cause of

Streets Disciple (title track)
War
Theif's Theme
And I was cool (though many arent) with
Suicide Bounce
Virgo
Bridging the Gap

When you factor the great first disc along with the fact that in that year he dropped tracks like Good Morning, Star Wars, Serious, the Original version of Disciple, Tick Tock with Mobb Deep, the Why remix and Talk of New York (Althought that might have been early 05) I think he deserves to be on the list even if he wasnt THE best rapper, I still think he was top 5-10
Didn't like Suicide Bounce, Virgo or Bridging. Remember the times though :wow:
Nas was easily top 5 for me in 2004.

I wont complain but it will still show the inconsistency of these picks....Ice Cube is accurate nd fits all criteria best RAPPER alive has always been about....when he was best rapper alive everybody accross the nation felt it in some form or fashion...if you wasnt fukkin with him heavy you knew the streets was,you knew somebody in ya circle who was a stan and trying to force this nikka on you heavy, theres a energy behind this honor:damn:

Where was the energy for Mf Doom?where was the energy for Raekwon in 09:scust:?i never felt it:mjpls:
There was definitely energy for both Raekwon and Doom in their respective years. It just wasn't coming from the mainstream channels.

Do you only listen to what's hot in any given year? I get the sense you've been following this shyt for the past 25 some odd years like I have. What are your off the wall or underground picks?

Was TI not very much southern soundwise and as a emcee with one of the greatest southern deliverys we ever s
TI sounds southern for sure, as for the beats, he had Toomp so Ill give him that, but he also had beats from Neptunes and Kanye early on, so he was trying to get beats form the hottest producers wherever.
was Snoop watered down and not west coast when he was best rapper alive?
Not at all. Hip hop was still regional in the 90s.
was Jadakiss not new york when he was gaining momentum
Nope. He was ruff Ryders with Timbaland beats.
could easily say guys like Bone Thugs and Kanye wasnt meant for the masses, that weirdo shyt shouldve flopped based on the climate....but true greatness rises to the top
Kanye was one of the top producers at the time. None could have gone both ways.
u get credit for being commited to being yourself, marching to the beat of your own drum....but you werent great enough to make people wanna march like you,and they dont like you....certain rewards you just cant reciev
Sounds like popularity is much more important to you.
