It had some crazy beats. :wow:
Prefix was dope too.
I bought Sabac's album that year too :wow:
Bill's was by far the best though :wow:

Barn had the best all around beats I think

Sounds like you're saying you gotta water your shyt down?

You dont have too,but if you can only be the man to your niche fanbase do you need to be rewarded:heh:

Thats like your family finding your weird sense of humor funny, but you step on a comedy stage and its pure silence:scust:

Or better yet you never step foot on a comedy stage knowing thats not your thing....Sure you can still be considered a funny nikka, but making Aunt Josephine and mama laugh in stitches aint gettin you funniest nikka alive:pachaha:.

Nah. Appealing to everybody is typically a bad thing. It means you've watered down your sound to appeal to all demographics. I'd rather somebody just make the music they want to make. Their style.
I don't want to hear MF Doom over a crunk beat in 2004. :lolbron:
Madvilliany wasn't meant for the masses and it was never gonna have that reach. That may be a disqualifying factor for you, but it's not for me. :yeshrug:
Hip hop would be better if artists just made music true to them instead of copying what's hot like Jay Z does
Hip hop that appeals to everybody is usually the equivalent of bathroom humor :sas2:

Was TI not very much southern soundwise and as a emcee with one of the greatest southern deliverys we ever seen:wow:?was Snoop watered down and not west coast when he was best rapper alive?was Jadakiss not new york when he was gaining momentum?i could easily say guys like Bone Thugs and Kanye wasnt meant for the masses, that weirdo shyt shouldve flopped based on the climate....but true greatness rises to the top:blessed:

Safe to say everybody agrees rappers are at they best when they make music true to themselves, thats when they all were at they peak and in contention for this honor....and all fell off once they stopped being that.

You get credit for being commited to being yourself, marching to the beat of your own drum....but you werent great enough to make people wanna march like you,and they dont like you....certain rewards you just cant recieve:manny:....thats the nature of staying true to yourself.

lets just give the weirdo nikka with alot of weirdo friends most popular in school now:pachaha:

Im not arguing that as his prime:ufdup:

I clearly said once rappers stop doing them thats when people agree they fell off in my post....that song was one of those moments where we knew it was just about over:francis:,but actually before that with TI.

Banks stans came through and crushed the buildings...:wow:

I might have to change my vote on the strength.

Glad somebody nominated Royce as well, DIC is a hell of an album, I just wasn't going to vote for him overall.

Never really listened to Webbie much, a nikka was lil boy back in 05. But I remember the Jeezy/Kanye takeover vividily. :wow:

Also Houston was poppin with Slim Thugga, Paul Wall, Mike Jones. My early childhood :mjcry:
