Can't decide between Andre 3000, Big Pun or DMX
I need good arguments for each side then I'll compare.

Yeah they're the top 3 no doubt (Pun wins based on quality alone, killed everything he was on, see also his features on NORE and Joe albums)

Aquemini and DMX debut are bonafide classics, crazy influental and outstanding BECAUSE OF QUALITY NOT ONLY HYPE AND SALES!!!

Nas, UGK, Mobb Deep didn't release nothing

Jay had a subpar album, dumbing down his shyt

Juve started getting hot in the last quarter, but wasn't that great of a lyricist. Classic album of course

8Ball had a very underrated 3CD album

Face released a good double album compilation, was only featured on 10 songs maybe, but mostly mediocre for his standards

Devin The Dude should be considered. Fantastic debut album

Hardly remember Redman and Gang Starr albums, not their strongest releases

Shouldn't Mase or Busta be considered as options?

yeah Aquemini did terrifically well but Big Boi will always be responsible for half

I actually thought he was shafted in the 94 votes getting none will Andre got 1 or 2

anyway....when I think of 1998 DMX comes to mind

I thought Andre's rapping performance was phenomenal and better than Big Boi's so that's what would make him an contender for me

I'm going with Hov. Vol. 2 was full of hits, Streets is Watching Soundtrack is a personal classic of mine, and Jay had some strong guest appearances too. This is a tough one though feel like I might change my vote to DMX later on.

Why aren't Canibus, Cam'ron, or N.O.R.E. on the poll :ld:

Killa's Confessions of Fire actually has some of the most underrated conceptual records in hip hop...

Transforms drugs into a person with a destructive influence in the hood...

Conversation with the Grim Reaper...

About relationships and pregnancies...

Not gonna try and vote based on album impact or other such foolishness.

If I was, Juvenile would be artist of the year. :mjlol::umad::ufdup:

Prolly gonna toss a coin and choose Hov or Pun.

Exactly. Hov was on a hell of a lyrical run. This was the year he was every fukking where.

":what: why this nikka on this MOP song!?"
":what:Why this nikka on 400 Degreez!?"

ANd outside of that embarrassing display on Juve album, he was killing everything.
