On the whole 1st rd thing

Melo for the Marjority of his career had to play in the West. He didn't have the luxury of let's say a Lebron James where you could feast on Nets, wizards, hawks, 2010 bulls, flabby and sick pistons in the earlier rounds and get to the finals. He had to play 50 win title teams almost every year. This was the story of KG his ENTIRE career in Minnesota.

For example in 2008 his team won 50 games and were the EIGHT seed. In the first rd has to face the 57 win Lakers. If he was in the east they'd have the 3rd best record and HCA. For example Lebron's team won 45 games and was the 4th seed and got to face a trash wizards squad.

So you have to put things into Perepsective. Melo is a top 12 Player.

The best chance for Anthony to win a title is as a second option on a team with a star who is a primary ball-handler, as we saw his former Denver Nugget teams succeed with Allen Iverson and Chauncey Billups at the helm

:snooze: @ this pure bullshyt

Of course the ATL
I'm confused is it his fault or the team or coaching ??why does melo get all the blame ? Melo has always been in the playoffs what other star can say that not to mention look at kg why couldnt he get ot the first round the west was stacked look at them teams melo lost too the prime spurs , lakers etc melo gets no credit for succeeding in the west.

So we judging elite talent on just making the playoffs now? :childplease:

And stop it with the excuse making. Every elite star in the league could use the same excuses. Superstars get results. Melo been out the first round ONCE. He ain't elite, he's a second tier star, not a franchise player.

ya'll act like Melo dont play his heart out in the offs. go watch those series it aint his fault he not making it out his team just aint as good. and KD aint all that much better than Melo but he's on a better team than melo has ever been on and caught the west at the right time (better teams are old not in their prime) it's more factors than just one player.
hell look at Wade career without Shaq and without Bron

Did the article insinuate Melo was a #2 when Allen Iverson and Billups were on the squad?

Melo was the second option with A.I there, and the first option with Billups there.

But what I'm saying is that he's a ball stopping volume scorer. A very good one, but one that will win a title as a No. 1 option? It would have to be a special situation, or, a situation with a superstar ball handler where the offense doesn't run through Mel.

Nobody wins title alone obviously. But Wade and Durant are clearly better than Carmelo. Anthony has a sparkling reputation because of his skill set but the numbers don't align with the elite player the game has.

It's letting him off the hook to say "durant just has a better team"....Durant also shoots the ball better and has higher efficiency #'s across the board. Durant's team is a lot better mostly because of Durant.

Lets look at Derrick rose. Got to the ECF last year and that's great, but against who?

The 37 Win pacers? :rudy:44 win Hawks?:rudy: Those aren't playoff teams in the west. The first 50 win team he faced he lost, and had an all time bad performance for an MVP. (23.4/6.6 on 35% shooting):deadrose:

Lebron beat win ONE 50 win team in 7 years in CleavlandAnd it was the :flabbynsick: 07' Pistons. Plus lebron's performance dipped when facing 50 win teams In his prime On the Cavs 2

05-10 against 50 win teams
Bron - 28.0 ppg, 42.6% FG, 52.4% TS, 8.2 rpg, 7.3 apg:ohhh:

They're better players then Melo(and melo didn't play great In the 11' Playoffs) but put things in context. It's easier to get out of Rd 1 when your facing garbage Competetion

How about when he played the fukking Clippers and shot 33%? How about him being in the East now and having back to back 7th seeds (team was 5th when he arrived)? I have never seen people be this understanding of a guy. T-Mac was rolling with Pat Garrity and had all the cap room occupied by a injured G.Hill and all he ever got was ridicule. When it comes to Melo nikkas get all in depth with shyt. That's wack. If team failures warrant ridicule (I don't think so but so many others do when it convenient) then it should be even across the board. There is always an outside reason why a team fails. Funny how cats only see this when it a player they like though.

It's not about getting out of the first round...it's a team game and Melo played out West.

It's about production. His numbers across the board aren't in the super elite group.
