Not yet career-wise, but there is a good chance he can if he keeps up his regular-season + playoff momentum for 3-5 more seasons.

Kawhi hasn't given an MVP-caliber regular season yet. Last year was the closest to it, but he won't have one until he plays over 72 games with 25/5/5 and a top-seeded Clippers..

Chris Paul would have won it if the Hornets won the west in 2008. I remember the MVP game when the Lakers beat the Hornets and basically locked up the top seed.

All time? Oscar Robertson’s 61-62 season comes to mind. 32 ppg, 13 rbg & 11 assists. Then put up 32/13/9 in the playoffs.

2016-2017 was definitely an MVP caliber year for Kawhi in hindsight.

We all got caught up with the gaudy #s and historic stats Russ & Harden we’re putting up, but Kawhi easily the most valuable 2 way player that season.

He was pushing the superteam Warriors for the #1 seed for the majority of the year with a mostly :flabbynsick: Spurs squad
Yeah you're right. That was also the season Curry had one of the best individual MVP seasons, so he was overshadowed. But you're right.

Cp3 07- 08 year was amazing.

steve Nash got 2 MVP’s for doing the same thing but Paul couldn’t get ONE?
CP3 probably would’ve won it over Kobe, but Lakers beat them when it counted to break the tie breaker. It wasn’t Kobe’s best statistical season, but a very good season where he led the Lakers to the best record in the west and ultimately the Finals. Crazy thing is the Hornets were leading the west a lot of that season, but couldn’t hold on. Then they end up losing in the second round.
