Best Government Jobs to apply for? (high hiring rate)

I will plan for a government job when I hit 30 I have done some contracts for the agency and no one works over there.....

for what agency? sounds similar to what im doin..

Yep. We got our memo last week. The last time forlough happened, employees were reimbursed. That's not expected to happen this time.

I don't know where your friends work at but we are losing 22 days of pay this fiscal year if this happens.

I went in there to setup a network and their IT guys had no clue about their own network(Because it was put up by another contractor)

I had to document and re-design everything from the ground up. No worries though I raped them with the overtime money and contractor "fees"

A particiular agency might have their own website to hire but most if not all go through usajobs.gov.

Another to search is to go to: Federal Government Jobs. You can't submit resumes through.

Be sure to use Keywords on resumes also which are specific to the job annoucement you are applying for. I had a generic list at home...I'll upload it if I can find it.

Your resume should be at least 4 or 5 pages long, but no LESS than 3 pages.

Furlough reduced to 11 days.

TSA's initiated a hiring freeze effective today for all internal and external positions. You can't even transfer. Once it's lifted TSA is a good starting point if you're looking for a foot in the door. They aren't as selective and they pay well for the work you'll be doing. It's a hostile and incompetent working environment though and be prepared to test for your job every year.

It's the federal government. They want to know a lot of who you are/what you can do.

The government you are talking about is those in congress and cabinet members. Don't compare them to the everyday worker.

GS-7 in most cases. Right out of college they usually get ladder positions (7/9/11).

if they want cheap labor they'll get it. certain things can be overlooked.
