Not including monitor. 4K gaming should be easy for 700 right?

Destiny 2 would be the ideal game in mind in this scenario. I had a discussion with a console homeboy who was saying this was impossible. I stated this isn't 2005 where Alienware was the only option. :lupe:

True 4K PC Gaming requires at the very minimum a GTX 1070, which is already more than half of your $700 target...and that's the minimum.

Your targets should be a GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti along with a Core i7 7th Gen CPU or a Ryzen 7 CPU. 16GB of RAM, 256GB SSD (minimum) and a 2TB Firecuda drive or something.

Yo I just bought a gaming laptop. I have a GTX 1060 tho. I guess that's weak or whatever but I'm coming to you because I know you're a PC gamer. Seen you over the years

what should I buy as a first and second game?

been playing console my whole life .. RPGS and FPS and shyt. I'm not into platformers and puzzle games unless its portal but that's kind of different IMO.

I was considering MGS and Skyrim ... ]

The GTX 1060 will handle anything well at 1080P.

Skyrim would be a good choice and as far as FPS is concerned the most popular is Counter Strike and Overwatch if you want to throw it in that category. I like Titanfall 2, but the community on the PC might be dead. BF1 will be active for a very long time.

How about 1080p then? I see microcenter has good deals.
Ryzen 5/Core i5 (Wait until Coffee Lake Drops if you want to roll with Intel)
8GB-16GB of RAM
256GB SSD + 1-2TB HDD
GTX 1060 or RX 480/580 if you can find them at a decent price.

Get a 6GB VRAM model of the 1060 if you want to dip your toe into VR.

If you want smooth 4K gaming the graphics card cost alone would start at ~$600-700:manny:

I mean whats the standard ? xbox 1x 4k low to medium graphics ? Or high to ultra 4k settings ? Doesnt seem you guys are comparing apples to apples here.. You can get 4k resolution on low-medium settings with a cheaper card.. Not sure why PC gaming is held to a higher standard of pricing when being compared to consoles. 4k is just a resolution, most cards can do 4k resolution on scale of xbox 1x..
