:banderas:Even after the numerous of times of being disappointed. At superhero games that’s not made by Capcom. I blindly spent my birthday money on this game. And wasn’t ready for how goated this game was.

Got my mom to buy this for me used at a Hollywood Video (and games!) back when she used to let me loose in the store to pick a game. I had to go on covers and word of mouth before I found out they had gaming magazines at the library.

:russ: Back then the process of buying or renting a game. Used to be by either reading the reviews, know the game studio’s record, knowing that it’s a well known ip, or the last resort by the game’s boxart.

Asked my mom to rent this in Blockbuster because the box looked cool. Ended up being one of my favorite childhood games along with SBK 2.

I wish they'd make one for Switch with Mario Kart elements. Add more characters, more boards, more mountains along with legacy ones, allow 8-12 players per race, online. The absolute pandemonium when everyone tries to get on the ski lift at once :wow:

I bought Cyberpunk and I had zero hype for it. Since I am a story driven player, it absolutely gave me everything I wanted and more. A close second would be Transistor. Long after forgetting the game so to speak, I still remember Red humming. What a fukking game and soundtrack.
Believe it or not but Shenmue 1 I bought it with the Dreamcast and crazy taxi and power stone. You can imagine I was in shock at the time the game was unbelievable.
Real talk, Shenmue was the first game to truly blow me away in action. Nothing looked like it when it came out and still not for some time after. As much as GTA3 was loved, it didnt have a tenth of the character Shenmue had. I can see it being a snooze fest for most people, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. Getting on the boat to china pissed me off. I didnt want it to end!
