Even then price matching eventually hurts margin. Hints why they laying off. I know when I was at Frys and they decided to start matching Amazon, they were betting customers would by more items such as accessories and protection plans. Nah it was the opposite . Customers would buy more but they would just price match everything killing the whole profit in the sale. Lol it was terrible.
Posted record profits and their stock is high as ever and buying back

I worked stock there back in 2003 and it was chill. The young ones like me aint take that shyt serious but the older folks would be stressing to make those sale goals. They didnt have the cards back but they pushed those service plans talmbout “pure profit”!

that shyt would give me anxiety trying to
Support a family working there because of the volatile nature. Holidays the hours were booming but its the shyt shift like the whole weekend while the ass kissers get the easy weekday and early hours. After superbowl
I was getting 8-12 hours but that was all on a friday or saturday. I said fukk that and dipped

Beyond those perks, the entire store is high priced and folks basically adult "Toys R Us":francis:

this is facts!!! I would go there to try out shyt or see what new releases were out and if I liked something, I’d order from amazon in my car or from somewhere online. Do the same for clothes. Storefronts, unfortunately, are on borrowed time. Especially when the majority of them don’t match prices online (which I never understood). I literally went to borders to get a book, showed them the price they had online for the item and other competitors, and legit ordered the book online right in front of them.

:picard:Breh. I wish I was the fly on that wall seeing the expression of the reps in front of you:merchant:.

No lie, I actually helped a customer make a purchase on Amazon for a laptop when I was working for Best Buy:pachaha:.

IDGAF, it's like this...folks are not getting paid for commission and in this day and age where retail is slowly crashing, I would rather help a customer get what they can fukk a loyalty brand:camby:.

I was so glad I bounced out of retail decade ago

The grim reality to customers thinking that shyt is all sweet and games for being WOAT, that its going to get to the point where everything is online. Interaction would be a thing of the past due to the changes of how technology works in the retail nature of sales.

Its like this, on a customer side of the plate; why would I go to a retail store to get a "feel" of something and feel wild pissed when there's none of that product in stock. When I can easily do my research online:

  • Go to Amazon or some big electronic chain
  • Look at product
  • Go on Youtube to see the unboxings, the DETAILED aspects of the product, and overall review of the product.
  • Go back to the online retailer
  • Buy the product and use some sort of discount addon
  • Get the product in a few days
  • ???
  • Profit
During my last days of working at Best Buy, we was pretty much ordering product for customers because there wasn't shyt in store. So, technically they just coming in and treating merch like it's a petting zoo because we did not have at least 70 percent of the store available to walk out with:shaq2:

:deadmanny: I’m at work holding in my laughter
Dap and rep
I worked there when I was a teen.

warehouse team :blessed: easiest job ever unless it was truck day or some dumbass old white man bought a 50 inch tv thinking you were going to be able to load it into his fukking Mazda Miata.

they tried to get me on the sales floor but I saw how hard they had them working trying to push that extended warranty shyt and said nope.

Every 60 minutes over the damn walkie talkie “alright team let’s gooooo!!! Need 3 more this hour, who’s going to be the store champ today!? Ashley!? John!? How many are y’all committing to? We gotta hit these numbers!!!!”
