See I don't look at it as "which would I rather have happen to me." I'm looking at the L's relative to the kind of show it is. In Game of Thrones, everyone is taking L's, everyone is getting dikks chopped off, everyone is being humiliated in inhumane ways. I'm not sure Theon's L's are really that much worse than Varys (had his dikk chopped off and worked as a male prostitute getting rammed in his ass for years) or the thousands of Unsullied. And I can name tons of other characters that have been tortured.
But in Dawsons world, his L's dwarf that of any of the characters that reside in his show, even more ironic because it's his show. And the fact that his p*ssy chasing basically led to his father dying is Red Wedding level shyt in his goofy melodramatic world.

Game of Thrones doesn't operate that way. More than one character acts as a protagonist for his/her POV part in the story.
Read the books! The show actually does a good job of portraying this storyline element.

Yup, Tobias Beecher was repeatedly raped, he was branded, got hooked on drugs, his arms and legs were broken, his son was murdered and the killers mailed the boys hand to him, his young daughter was kidnapped and possibly sexually molested, got out of prison only to be framed and sent back to prison, AND he was framed for murder by a guy he was dating in prison (same dude that broke his arms and legs).....
Death would have been a release for this dude.
